This book originates from the experience of providing Art Therapy for adults diagnosed with learning disabilities living in an institutional setting. It follows two longitudinal case studies in an attempt to understand dyadic relations in Art Therapy. Learning disabilities are among the most common disabilities experienced in childhood and adulthood. Over the past two decades, there has been a major increase in research into the effects of the arts on health and well-being, alongside developments in practice and policy activities in different countries across the WHO European Region and further afield.
