Since 1950, when Hans Selye first devoted an entire book to the study of stress,professional and public concern with stress has grown tremendous ly. These concerns have contributed to an understanding that has impli cations for both prevention and treatment. The present book is designed to combine these data with the clinical concerns of dealing with stressed populations. In order to bridge the gap between research and practice, contributions are included by major researchers who have been con cerned with the nature of stress and coping and by clinical researchers who have developed stress management and stress prevention programs. The goal of the present study was to test the potential efficacy of an online stress management intervention, the daily diary; to develop and test a personalized feedback intervention for the diary; and to test the effectiveness of an empirically-supported, cognitive behavioral stress management program when augmented with collaborative assessment procedures. Based on the assumptions of a stepped-care model, I hypothesized that each more intensive intervention would lead to added benefits in terms of stress reduction, increased positive affect, and decreased negative affect. 111 undergraduate students who scored 20 or higher on the Perceived Stress Scale participated in either the diary + feedback intervention (n = 33), the CA-enhanced stress management training (n = 43), or the control condition (n = 35). Ninety participants (81.1%) completed their allocated intervention and 75 (67.6%) completed the post-study assessment. Our results pointed to a significant association between diary adherence and stress reduction (r = .31), and suggested that, when compared to a control group, CA-enhanced SMT produced moderate decreases in stress (d = .45). To our knowledge, this is the first study to use an online daily diary as a stress management intervention and the first to test ongoing collaborative assessment as an adjunct to evidence-based psychotherapy.

The goal is to study the effectiveness of Seren@ctif, the first French stress management digital program based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for patients with Adjustment Disorder with Anxiety (ADA) (Servant et al, 2017; JMIR Res Protoc). Subsequently, Seren@ctif could be advised for people suffering from others diseases related to stress, or for people with a clinical level of perceived stress. The rise of Information and Communication Technologies metamorphose our health care system. E-health is beginning to find its place in psychiatry, especially in stress and anxiety domain.The aim is to assess the effectiveness of a 5-week standardized stress management program for reducing anxiety conducted via eLearning (iCBT) or through face-to-face interviews (CBT) with patients suffering from ADA, compared with a Wait List Control group. The primary outcome is change in the State Trait Anxiety Inventory scale trait subscale between baseline and 2-month visit. Programs include 5 modules based on standard CBT principles : relaxation techniques, cognitive restructuring, mindfulness, behavioral skills, healthy behaviors ... Digital support are composed of videos, audio files, a self-help book portfolio in the form of an eGuide, and log books providing the exercises to be completed between 2 sessions. In the face-to-face group, patients receive the same program from a therapist without digital support. Self-assessments were collected face-to-face with the investigator.A significant improvement is hightlighted on self-report scales of anxiety, stress and depression at 2 months for the two intervention groups compared to the control group Moreover, the blending intervention mixing online and face-to-face component (iCBT) not showing any significant differences with the same face-to-face intervention (CBT), on self-report scales of anxiety, stress and depression, and on the satisfaction.Internet is a promising medium to facilitate the dissemination of attractive and effective stress managements programs.
