Progress may be good, but progress will be an adjustment. When a change involves a change in living and uprooting of surroundings, it’s major. This book is about progress, “a squirrel’s dilemma”, and adjustment. About taking down beautiful trees full of pecan nuts in a park area. The park area provided food, shelter, play and sleep for the squirrels as well as safety. As trees were plowed down and taken away, squirrels scampered to other locations in areas of distance from their habitat. As days went on, only one tree stump was left shadowed by the barren land. A squirrel was sitting on that tree stump eating one remaining nut. It was then I thought of “A Squirrel’s Dilemma”. A general theme is that when something happens, decisions must be made and adjustments narrowed and the best choice made with comfort.

Read Along or Enhanced eBook: After Groundhog announces six more weeks of winter, half his animal friends are disappointed, while the other half are excited. Each animal asks Groundhog to make his prediction in their favor the following year. Rather than being truthful about the fact that he just "calls it like he sees it," he leads them to believe he can control the weather, accepting their gifts of food and favor. On the next Groundhog Day, he finally admits he made promises he couldn't keep because he was trying to please everyone and makes amends. Matt Faulkner's rich illustrations are packed with hilarious details that will delight readers of all ages. No matter what weather the Groundhog predicts, curling up with this fun book is a great way to spend the winter. From the Hardcover edition.

Shelby is a young Flying Squirrel who lives with his mother and his twin sister, Darby. This delightful series of adventures includes necessary lessons for skills the young ones will need as adults, and endless fun and excitement as Shelby explores the world around him. Shelby hiccups and stutters when he is upset or nervous, trouble finds him much too easily, and growing up is not what he wants to do. The forest provides him with many good friends, but when their beloved meadow is changed forever they all move to the woods beside a farm, where Shelby meets and learns about farm animals, a whole new experience. The stories relate loosely to the realities of wild Flying Squirrels, but liberal poetic licence allows much more to happen. SHELBY F. SQUIRREL is the perfect introduction to learning more about real Flying Squirrels, one of Nature's very little-known and most amazing creatures. The SHELBY F SQUIRREL Series As your child grows, so does Shelby! BOOK 1 The Complete Adventures of SHELBY F. SQUIRREL and Friends Age 4-10 (Shelby is 3 months old to 2 years) BOOK 2 The Great FOREST CAPER Age 8-11 (Shelby is an adolescent) BOOK 3 Where is Virginia? Age 9-12 (Shelby, an adult, is now a father) Visit Eleanor Lawrie at flutesandflyingsquirrels.com

THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER Women in Clothes is a book unlike any other. It is essentially a conversation among hundreds of women of all nationalities—famous, anonymous, religious, secular, married, single, young, old—on the subject of clothing, and how the garments we put on every day define and shape our lives. It began with a survey. The editors composed a list of more than fifty questions designed to prompt women to think more deeply about their personal style. Writers, activists, and artists including Cindy Sherman, Kim Gordon, Kalpona Akter, Sarah Nicole Prickett, Tavi Gevinson, Miranda July, Roxane Gay, Lena Dunham, and Molly Ringwald answered these questions with photographs, interviews, personal testimonies, and illustrations. Even our most basic clothing choices can give us confidence, show the connection between our appearance and our habits of mind, express our values and our politics, bond us with our friends, or function as armor or disguise. They are the tools we use to reinvent ourselves and to transform how others see us. Women in Clothes embraces the complexity of women’s style decisions, revealing the sometimes funny, sometimes strange, always thoughtful impulses that influence our daily ritual of getting dressed.
