As the final volume in the series opens, Maddy, Dane, and Stamp are still together, though barely, nestled safely inside the walls of Sentinel City, a stronghold designed to keep Zerkers out—and zombies in. Maddy trains night and day, hoping to join Vera as a Keeper. Dane has been given Sentinel Support in the form a busty blonde named Courtney. And what of Stamp? Although Maddy’s dad has worked hard to rehabilitate him after his Zerker bite, he’s still not all . . . there. When Dr. Swift inadvertently allows the zombies’ archenemy, Val, to escape from Sentinel City, Maddy’s world turns upside down. She and Stamp are vanished—expelled from the safety of Sentinel City, no better than common Zerkers. Dane, a Sentinel now, escapes punishment and is assigned to ensure that his old friends never return. As Maddy and Stamp stray from the safety of Sentinel City, danger mounts . . . and not just for them. Val has taken up residence in a seaside town and enrolled in another Normal high school. To outwit her and save Seagull Shores from all-out zombie Armageddon, Maddy must face her archenemy once again. Only this time, she’s all alone...

Maddy Swift is just a normal high school girl—until she’s struck by lighting and reanimated as a zombie. Great. Like Barracuda Bay High wasn’t cold-blooded enough already! Navigating the perils of cliques and hot guys was bad enough. Now Maddy has to learn to survive as the undead. She quickly discovers she’s not the only one walking dead in class, and soon she’s thrown into an epic battle surrounding everyone she’s ever loved. Avoiding detection by curious Normals while fighting vengeful Zerkers and equally lethal Sentinels, Maddy discovers life as a zombie is no picnic. Turns out there’s a lot more to it than shuffling around 24/7 growling, “Brains!”

This adventure series is created especially for readers who love the fight of good vs. evil, magical academies like Hogwarts in the Harry Potter saga, and games like Minecraft, Terraria, and Pokemon GO. Entity303, the cruel villain who has poisoned vanilla Minecraft with dangerous and bizarre mods, was able to escape the sky-islands of Mystcraft, leaving the surface of Minecraft in a giant rocket. Gameknight999 knows Weaver must be sent back into the past so the timeline can be repaired and the eventual destruction of all the Minecraft worlds can be stopped. But to send him back, they must find the time-traveling portal that brought Weaver to the future. And only Entity303 knows the location. They have no choice; Gameknight999 and his friends must follow behind, landing on a strange and barren lunar landscape, a world stranger and more alien (in more ways than one) than any other Minecraft mod. It’s here that they must battle outer space mobs, combat monster bosses, and find Entity303. But as they close in on the terrible user, Gameknight999 will discover Entity303’s real scheme, and the very thought of what the evil user plans will fill everyone with terror. Can the User-that-is-not-a-user catch Entity303 as he travels through the cold reaches of universe, before it’s too late? Come along with Gameknight999 on his most thrilling adventure yet, to a biome unlike anything else in the Overworld: outer space!

The undead are very much alive in contemporary entertainment and lore. Indeed, vampires and zombies have garnered attention in print media, cinema, and on television. The vampire, with roots in medieval European folklore, and the zombie, with origins in Afro-Caribbean mythology, have both undergone significant transformations in global culture, proliferating as deviant representatives of the zeitgeist. As this volume demonstrates, distribution of vampires and zombies across time and space has revealed these undead figures to carry multiple meanings. Of all monsters, vampires and zombies seem to be the trendiest--the most regularly incarnate of the undead and the monsters most frequently represented in the media and pop culture. Moreover, both figures have experienced radical reinterpretations. If in the past vampires were evil, blood-sucking exploiters and zombies were brainless victims, they now have metamorphosed into kinder and gentler blood-sucking vampires and crueler, more relentless, flesh-eating zombies. Although the portrayals of both vampires and zombies can be traced back to specific regions and predate mass media, the introduction of mass distribution through film and game technologies has significantly modified their depiction over time and in new environments. Among other topics, contributors discuss zombies in Thai films, vampire novels of Mexico, and undead avatars in horror videogames. This volume--with scholars from different national and cultural backgrounds--explores the transformations that the vampire and zombie figures undergo when they travel globally and through various media and cultures.

From the acclaimed illustrator of Flora & Ulysses comes the second book in the Zombie Problems trilogy, heralded by School Library Journal as "reminiscent of Roald Dahl in uniting the macabre with realism." What's worse than discovering you have a zombie problem? Acquiring four more undead tag-alongs. . . . When a zombie followed August DuPont home one day, he didn't expect her to stick around. But Claudette is in no hurry to leave August's side. And when he decides to go to Croissant City in search of the elusive Zombie Stone, Claudette joins him. It's a good thing she does, because no sooner had August set out than a mysterious white alligator began to follow him. Reptiles aren't the only creatures to look out for, though. When August is reunited with his dour cousins the Malveaus, and their menacing mother, Orchid, finding the stone before they do takes on a new urgency. Throw in a swamp doctor, a costume parade, a pop star, a séance, a band of smugglers, and four new zombies, and you'd better believe that August's quest is only going to get more complicated.
