Spirit is the essence of character—of what it means to be human. Finding hope in the power of collaboration underpinned by ‘spirit work’-- the care and love of students as learners-- Fullan & Edwards capture how some school districts are creating a deep learning environment for all. COVID-19, racial inequity, polarizing politics, mass misinformation, and myriad other challenges have made the future of education seem bleaker than ever. Spirit Work and the Science of Collaboration speaks directly to leaders′ hearts and advocates for the development of two qualities that will bring back hope for the future of education: "spirit work" and the science of collaboration. Spirit work centers love and care for students, staff, and communities as the impetus for creating a positive culture, while collaboration is the vehicle for manifesting that spirit work. Through powerful case studies and vignettes, the authors show how spirit and collaboration represent revolutionary potential for education. Readers will find A lifeline amid overwhelming conditions. Hope for themselves and the future of education Practical ideas for building cohesion throughout school communities We cannot allow our best advocates for children to be consumed by today’s challenges. Spirit work and collaboration can pave the way to a brighter future.

Since the rise of modern industrial society, work has come to pervade and rule the lives of men and women. Although there have been many popular books and church documents on on the Christian understanding of work, this is the first scholarly effort to articulate a developed Protestant theology of work. In Work in the Spirit, Miroslav Volf interprets work from a new perspective - in terms of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. He exhaustively explores the nature of work in both capitalist and socialist societies and considers a variety of work, including industrial, agricultural, medical, political, and artistic work. Examining the importance of alienation in work in industrial and information societies (particularly in the relation of workers to management and technology), he analyzes various forms of such alienation, and elucidates the character of humane work. On the basis of the ÒpneumatologicalÓ theology of work that he develops, Volf rejects the traditional Protestant understanding of work as vocation, and takes the concept of charisma as the cornerstone for his theological reflection on work. He denies that one is ÒcalledÓ to do a particular work irrespective of one's inclinations, and asserts, instead, that it is our privilege to do the kind of work for which God's spirit has gifted us. All human work done in accordance with the will of God, Volf argues, is cooperation with God in the preservation and transformation of the world.

When New Testament writers mention God's pledge to grant his Holy Spirit, their words depict more than just a simple promise to make available his comfort. Rather, they describe a nonrefundable down payment on all the blessings of heaven and a commitment that God will never abandon us until he has completed his work in our lives. In 'The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit', Donald T. Williams presents a comprehensive study of the Holy Spirit, helping readers answer their most pressing questions about the Holy Spirit, including: ÓIs the Holy Spirit working today? ÓHow can I recognize gifts of the Holy Spirit in my life?Ó ÓWhat about speaking in tongues?Ó ÓHow do I know my life is sealed by the Holy Spirit?Ó ÓHow can I identify true assurance of salvation from the Holy Spirit?Ó With its readable style, chapter summaries, ideas for practical application, and questions for further reading, this book is an excellent guide for serious personal or group study of the Holy Spirit. If you are considering serious study of the Holy Spirit - at any level - start with this book.

One of the most influential evangelical Christian speakers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, R. A. Torrey traveled the world to bring the word of Christ to audiences. Here, in a work first published in 1900, Torrey encourages the faithful to develop a more meaningful relationship with what is perhaps the most enigmatic and most misunderstood member of the Trinity: the Holy Spirit. Positive and heartening, and filled with the author's own personal experiences with the Holy Spirit, this is still a valuable resource for Christians who wish to learn: . the distinction of the Holy Spirit from the Father and Son . the subordination of the Spirit to the Father and Son . the names of the Holy Spirit . the Holy Spirit's work in the material universe . the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit . the Holy Spirit bringing forth Christlike graces of character . the Holy Spirit and the believer's body . the work of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ . and much more. American pastor and writer REUBEN ARCHER TORREY (1856-1928) is the author of more than 40 books, including Baptism with the Holy Spirit (1895), What the Bible Teaches (1898), How to Bring Them to Christ (1893), and How to Pray (1900).

Publisher’s Introductory Back in the eighteen and early nineteen hundreds there were a group of men known as the Plymouth Brethren. These men had many writings and many of them were taken from Lectures given in many areas and at different times during this era. Some were given in different languages and then translated into English. I have taken many of these writings and messages and formatted them so they could be read on tablets and phones. In other words, they are in epub and mobi formats. I have set up indexes with headers and have enabled text to speech. I then run them through a checker to make sure the ebook format is without errors. In doing this I have produced a high quality product for a very low price. These are not just scanning of old writings but have been completely redone by hand. I started doing this for my own private use. I found there were others who wanted them also so after praying about it and contacting publishers who already got permission to use all these writings and lectures I too got permission via email. (which I have on file). I now have over 230 of these writings in ebook format on Amazon for the Kindle and on Google play for the Android OS. Hopefully this number will keep increasing as time goes on. Contents. Lecture 1. The Holy Spirit in the Dispensations — Before Christ; the Present Age; the Millennium Lecture 2. This is an in-depth study into the Holy Spirit, who is not a mere force. He is not energy. The Holy Spirit is a person and part of the Trinity along with the Father and the Son. God is Sovereign, and just so God wills and moves according to His will. Just so, the Spirit of the Lord moves and acts never out of His own accord, but always follows the leading of the Father. So the Spirit is interdependent, as there is a mutual dependency within the Trinity. The work of the Spirit is far greater in scope than merely the spiritual gifts, for the Spirit of the Lord leads us in our calling on the narrow path to the glory of the Lord. It is of utmost necessity for the Church to be one that is utterly and completely Spirit-filled and not led by the flesh. For only in the Spirit can we fulfil the Great Commission, be true disciples and walk in His truth, His way and His life.
