This is the updated California Family Law Handbook for Paralegals. It is completely updated with laws and rules; all old no longer applicable laws and rules have been removed. There are some new cases that have been added. The order of the chapters has been modified so that understanding the material presented is easier. Just like the previous editions, almost every chapter has its own subject. There is summary on the first page of each chapter that summarizes that chapter. This summarization called an "In Brief" can be used to teach from, with the teacher adding his/her own spin or war stories. The "In Brief" is also great for the student to use as a study guide to study for tests or review. There are two table of contents - one is a list of the chapters and the second table of contents is much more in depth so that finding the material that is needed for a specific assignment is easy. The index is extensive, covering many areas and cases. There are several charts throughout the book that can explain the material in a much more visual way. New this year is the workbook entitled, California Family Law Workbook 2021 Edition. It is set up to use with this book and with the California Family Law 2021 Edition book. The workbook contains educational exercises for every chapter which can include - fill in the blanks, matching, crossword puzzles, IRACS and more. This is a great teaching aid. And also new in this edition, is a chapter of legal ethics. This is an important topic that needs to be covered. The 2021 Edition of California Family Law Handbook for Paralegals is even better than the previous editions. This book has it all and covers so many family law concepts, cases and codes. For paralegal classes, this is the best book on the market and the only one to use to teach paralegals what they need to know to be successful paralegals in the family law field.
