I have written this book to give hope for every human being who ache for God and spirituality but are lost. They think themselves unfortunate and not holy enough to reach God just because they do not live in a monastery. This book also is for those who are drawn into the pool of depression, confusion, suffering, loneliness, emptiness, addiction, crime, guilt and who think that life is of no use. I want to share my experience with all to assure that God and spirituality is not confined within religious walls. We can live a meaningful spiritual life anywhere and still can be close to God. This book also explains how we can create our own path for God realization and soul realization. I have also tried to simplify the technique of exercising popular but misunderstood terms like meditation, karma and thoughts. To sum up, this book is all about the beautiful phenomenon of our life.

In this comprehensive study of a common deity found in the ancient Near East as well as many other cultures, Green brings together evidence from the worlds of myth, iconography, and literature in an attempt to arrive at a new synthesis regarding the place of the Storm-god. He finds that the Storm-god was the force primarily responsible for three major areas of human concern: (1) religious power because he was the ever-dominant environmental force upon which peoples depended for their very lives; (2) centralized political power; and (3) continuously evolving sociocultural processes, which typically were projected through the Storm-god’s attendants. Green traces these motifs through the Mesopotamian, Anatolian, Syrian, and Levantine regions; with regard to the latter, he argues that Yahweh of the Bible can be identified as a storm-god, though certain unique characteristics came to be associated with him: he was the Creator of all that is created and the self-existing god who needs no other.

It’s easy to get caught up in the dramatic details of the story of Jonah. Who can forget the prophet who tried to flee from God but was swallowed whole by a big fish? Let Robert Solomon take you deeper into the book of Jonah, and you’ll see this popular Sunday School account in a new light. The story of Jonah is really a story of God’s heart and God’s mission. It tells of a loving God who pursues His people relentlessly—whether it is a renegade prophet, a boatful of desperate sailors, or a sinful city. It speaks of a merciful God who is always ready to give people a second chance. And it shows us a compassionate God who is working in our hearts even as He challenges us to love others. Don’t miss the beautiful truths contained in what Jesus himself called the “sign of Jonah”.

In Job, one of the godliest men who ever lived, God shows us first that no saint is exempt from suffering. Second, he teaches us that because the faith of his children is precious to him, he throws it in the roaring fires of affliction, to remove its impurities and to reveal its heavenly quality. Third, and when we ask God why, his answer is, "For My glory." Armed with these three truths, we can face suffering with confidence in our Father's wisdom and love, overcome the world by faith that looks to the power of Jesus Christ in us, and endure the fires by holding fast to his promises.
