This work includes more than 3,000 experimental television programs, both aired and unaired, that almost became a series. Entries include length, network, air date (if appropriate), a fact-filled plot synopsis, cast, guest stars, producer, director, writer, and music coordinator. Fully indexed.

"Over the course of several years, Ibrahim Muhawi and Sharif Kanaana collected tales from the regions of the Galilee, Gaza, and the West Bank and selected those that best represent the Palestinian Arab folk narrative tradition. Combing their expertise in English literature and anthropology, they bring to these folktales an integral method of study that unites a sensitivity to language with a deep appreciation for culture. Great care has been taken with the translations to maintain the original flavor, humor, and cultural nuances in tales that are at once earthy and whimsical and that also parallel stories found in the larger Arab folk tradition."--Provided by publisher.

To my mother: your life was taken brutally, leaving me the gift of courage. Thank you. This is the story of how I overcame the murder of my mother and found peace after decades of suffering from a traumatic life of abuse and memories that haunted me. It is the story of how I put an end to a tragic event that didn't end just that night, but instead continued on, affecting my generation and the generations of my children and grandchildren. I hope that reading this book will show you there is another way--that it is possible to find peace after insanity. With this book, I explain the exploration of self and the consequences of the human condition. I tell how each and every knot can be taken apart so that we can attain the freedom of our soul and be happy. This book brings the hope that what once was fear can shift into love. It can help you to recognize the capacity inside of you to transform your life. You can find this book's website at www.LoveIsForgiveness.com.

This three-volume collection of essays reveals the widespread existence of queer men and women in American popular culture, and showcases their important yet little-known role in shaping our society over the last 120 years. The virtually unknown existence of gay, bisexual, and queer men and women in American popular culture from the late 1800s through the present day is a fascinating topic for many readers, regardless of their own orientation. Whether it's the father of bodybuilding, famous closeted entertainers or sports stars, or the leading characters in current television shows and films, queer men and women have changed the face of American popular culture and society for over a century. Ironically, most of the fascinating information, anecdotes, and revealing facts about well-known figures in American culture are virtually unknown to the typical U.S. citizen. Elledge's Queers in American Popular Culture covers a wide variety of historical and current topics that documents how the queer community has been—and continues to be—one of the most significant shapers of American popular culture. Currently, no other book covers queer topics in American popular culture as broadly as this text.

This monumental book, first published in 1992, represents a major contribution to Sephardic and Hispanic studies as well as to comparative folklore scholarship in a worldwide perspective. After many years of fieldwork and extensive archival investigations in Spain, Israel and the United States, the author has brought together and analysed a massive body of primary sources. This is the first collection of Sephardic narratives offered to the English-speaking reader, and constitutes an important addition to the understanding of Sephardic cultural tradition.

This collection of Newfoundland folk narratives, first published in 1996, grew out of extensive fieldwork in folk culture in the province. The intention was to collect as broad a spectrum of traditional material as possible, and Folktales of Newfoundland is notable not only for the number and quality of its narratives, but also for the format in which they are presented. A special transcription system conveys to the reader the accents and rhythms of each performance, and the endnote to each tale features an analysis of the narrator’s language. In addition, Newfoundland has preserved many aspects of English and Irish folk tradition, some of which are no longer active in the countries of their origin. Working from the premise that traditions virtually unknown in England might still survive in active form in Newfoundland, the researchers set out to discover if this was in fact the case.
