The Revelations of Julian of Norwich (sixteen visions inspired by the crucified Christ which she received during a serious illness) are recorded in two versions: the short text, written near the time; and the better-known second version, completed some twenty years later. The short text has a personal quality which Julian chose, probably for reasons of modesty, to edit out in her later version, but it has a simplicity and natural grace which give a clear sense of Julian as a person, and has been chosen by Frances Beer as the basis of this translation. Also included is Julian's doctrine of the Motherhood of God, excerpted from the long text. The introduction covers Julian's life and places her in the larger context of the fourteenth-century English mystical tradition.

Julian of Norwich is one of the subtlest writers and profoundest thinkers of the Middle Ages, and the earliest woman writer in English. Her Revelations describe a loving and merciful God and a positive vision of humanity. This sensitive new translation conveys the poise and serenity of her style, and includes the two versions of her text.

To function in modern society complex data must be absorbed and understood at a breakneck pace. The most efficient way to do this is through data-based graphics. This book is an exploration and celebration of graphical methods of data presentation. Visual Revelations' principal purpose is to enlighten, inform, and amuse the reader regarding the shortcomings of common graphical practices; particularly how they can misinform while simultaneously providing models of wonderful graphics. There are many examples of the best graphic practice, graphs that go beyond conveying, facts, and structure to be able to carry emotion as well. Aimed at an educated, lay audience, this volume benefits anyone who must either convey or receive quantitative information, including designers, statisticians, and people in the media.

N. T. Wright has undertaken a tremendous task: to provide guides to all the books of the New Testament, and to include in them his own translation of the entire text. Each short passage is followed by a highly readable discussion, with background information, useful explanations and suggestions, and thoughts as to how the text can be relevant to our lives today. A glossary is included at the back of the book. The series is suitable for group study, personal study, or daily devotions.

Revelation is the fifth book in Morgan Bruce’s seven-part “Accidental Angel” series. Alexei and Tristan have a secret. They are brothers who are also angels trying to live a life on Earth as ordinary children. They have wings and can fly, teleport, and be invisible, and they believe they are the only angels attempting such an undertaking. Amidst their need for secrecy, they have already survived an attempt on their lives by a mad photographer, and the evil intentions of a turned angel. Now it seems they are being readied for a new mission to right the wrongs of a distant past, even though they don’t yet understand how they will go about this new quest. As a further complication, the discovery of an ancient chalice starts to give them unnerving dreams, designed to provide them with knowledge of past events that relate to the future. But this knowledge also exposes them to considerable danger from both human and angelic realms. In all of this, they find an unexpected future ally in a very sick boy in a hospital on the far side of the world.
