In a marketplace full of relationship books that range from clinical to sensational, Ramona Zabriskie's Wife for Life, The Power to Succeed in Marriage stands out for its sympathetic, elegant wisdom. Written in a warm, feminine tone, this book masterfully interlaces authoritative voices with personal stories from the author's 35 year marriage and her motivational speaking and mentoring career. Nearly divorced two years after her own wedding, the author has become an advocate and exemplar of marital success for women who want to believe. Her compassion and know-how, uniquely presented in three parts: "Why You Both Want a Grand, Lifelong Marriage", "How to Avoid Becoming a Dream Breaker", and "What to Do to Make Dreams Come True", is proving transformative. Inspired by new perspective, women from every stage of life and marital status are gaining the skills, confidence, and long-range vision needed to affect their own happiness as well as the ultimate outcome of their marriage. Wife for Life has helped women turn troubled marriages around, transform good marriages into great ones, and grow great marriages into "grand empires of love" that can last forever.

Are you winning at work but failing at home? Save your marriage before it's too late! Divorce is everywhere. Especially among high-achieving and success-driven professionals, who may leave a trail of broken relationships in their wake. In Change Your Life, Not Your Wife, psychologist Dr. Tony Ferretti and physician Dr. Peter Weiss demystify this seeming discord-highly successful individuals failing at homestressing that the same character traits that drive career success can destroy families. Using true-to-life examples, they outline the perils of being achievement or power oriented in our intimate relationships. Eschewing blame, the authors note that usually both partners have played a role in arriving at a marital crossroads. Their good news is that relationships can get better. When couples are willing to work through their issues, dramatic improvement and healing are possible. In this book you will: discover the common personality traits behind the succeed at work/fail at home syndrome, understand how your current behavior in relationships has been shaped by your childhood experiences, assess the priorities in your life and the importance of shifting your focus from possessions to people, find simple assessments and exercises to help you evaluate your marriage, learn through a step-by-step process how to heal, nurture, and grow your marriage with proven and effective tools, and see how counseling works to help couples heal relationships, or to heal separately when relationships fail. Wife of the Life of the Party is the memoir of the late Lita Grey Chaplin (1908-1995), the only one of Chaplin's wives to have written an account of life with Chaplin. Her memoir is an extraordinary Hollywood story of someone who was there from the very beginning. Born Lillita Louise MacMurray in Hollywood, she began her career at twelve with the Charlie Chaplin Film Company, when Chaplin selected her to appear with him as the flirting angel in The Kid. When she was fifteen, Chaplin signed her as the leading lady in The Gold Rush and changed her name to Lita Grey. She was forced to leave the production when, at the age of sixteen, she became pregnant with Chaplin's child. She married Chaplin in Empalme, Mexico in November 1924. The Chaplins stayed together for two years. Lita bore Chaplin two sons: Charles Chaplin, Jr. and Sydney Chaplin. In November 1926, after Lita discovered that Chaplin was having an affair with Merna Kennedy (Lita's best friend, whom she had persuaded Chaplin to hire as the leading lady in The Circus), Lita left Chaplin and filed for divorce. It was one of the first divorce cases to receive a public airing. The divorce complaint ran a staggering 42 pages and fed scandal with its revelations about the private life of Charles Chaplin. Lita's divorce settlement of $825,000 was the largest in American history at the time. Lita authorized the publication of another biography, My Life with Chaplin, in 1966. The book was mainly the creation of her co-author, Morton Cooper, who re-wrote her manuscript. Lita was never happy with the many inaccuracies and distortions of that book. Wife of the Life of the Party is not to be seen as a supplement to her early book, but rather Lita's own version of her life, told for the first time.
