In this book grandson Ethan tells his friends about B-Doubles, what they are; the different kind of B-Doubles exist, why they are different, and why they are so important for Australians. The big machines fascinate him very much. From time to time he sees them on his Dad’s farm when they deliver feed for the cattle, or pick up milk from the dairy as they empty the milk vat after the milking of the cows has been done. He also tells them about his Granddad who drives B-Doubles interstate for a living. His Granddad (author) tells stories about situations into which B-Doubles get, about dealings with the road authorities, and about relationships with other road users. He also tells a bit about how hard interstate trucking is for people who are married. Not much is known about the life of interstate truckers and all that is involved in the heavy haulage industry. This book, which aims primarily at children eight to twelve years old sheds light on a national phenomenon that every one knows exists, but about which not much is really known at all.

This is her story of faith, which deepens and grows, touching those around her during her adventure in the Never Never.

THE NOVEL! THE SPIRIT OF TIME. There is no one reason for having written this story. In my lifetime I have collected within my memory many thoughts and facts of Australia. With this in mind, I have attempted to tell things as they are and not be politically correct in whom I might hurt or not. To assume is to allow others to experience what indeed is in your intellect to do. I have placed a heroine as the main character in the book to allow for the difference between the ugliness of man to fight, against that of the female insight into love. Blending the two, I hope to have captured life in reality. We have taken the time zone back to the forties at the start to enable us to have a greater understanding of the pioneers as they struggled under greater adversity than they do today. Having said that, it was of course the right of the Indigenous people to say they had those hardships before the white man. It was because of them the people were able to expand this Island and in that, had the right to be themselves then and also today. Perhaps this is the reason I have placed a great emphasis on them and the customs. To capture the dreamtime in one’s mind is to know who you are! Having achieved that I wished to give some insight so others may find peace in their life time! Politically there remains an undercurrent of stupid acquiescence that threatens to demolish this once great country. This is not directed towards any one group, but more to the point ridiculing to the apathy of my fellow Australians. Their being afraid of what they do not know creates this monster termed as racism. The towns, places, plants along with the wild life are real and if this book can get one person to seek out what is out there then I have achieved the need that is yours. The realness of the Indigenous people of the region along with their language are also real and as you find the beauty, you would be one step towards thanking the pioneers for their strength and tenacity. Regards GUNNA

This four-part novel follows the lives and adventures of three teenage boys, from Victoria, Australia, to the seat of government in Whitehall, England, during eleven turbulent months. In Storm Ridge, we meet 14-year-old Wesley, his best friend, Graham, and their worst enemy, Scott. A class hiking trip turns to disaster as Wesley, Graham and Scott are trapped on a snow-capped mountain with nine others and forced to lay aside their differences for a chance at survival. Months later, on a camping trip with Wesley's cousins, the three experience a terrifying game of cat-and-mouse with violent drug traffickers, in Paddle Hard. Emily, an exchange student from England, becomes the kidnapping target of foreign terrorists after a failed assassination attempt on her father in Paris. Guided by an aboriginal tribal elder, the boys follow her captors through the remote desert as they plan to rescue her before it is too late, in Outback Heroes. And when Wesley and Graham travel to England as Emily's guests, they're determined to discover how the terrorists were able to find Emily in the vast Australian outback. What's uncovered is an appalling, twisted history of cruelty, betrayal, and attempted murder as the Enemies Within are finally revealed. Author Bio: Author J. Local Governance in Multi-Layered Systems

The book provides a comprehensive analysis of local government in federations. It fills the gap in current legal research and positions local government in federal studies through the lenses of comparative law, adopting a more nuanced approach to local government. The book considers the shortcomings between the black-letter constitution and its operational rules. Whether (and how) the regime of local government is implemented is more relevant than its formal-but-ineffective recognition. The comparative survey discloses the variety local institutions take in different federal contexts. Divided into three parts, the book comprises chapters investigating local government in systems that, to various degrees, have been examined and classified as federal. Scholars throughout the world have examined the federal-local connection in aggregative federations, (the USA, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, and Austria), devolutionary ones (Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Italy, Spain, the UK, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and the Russian Federation), as well as in federations beyond the West, where federalism-as-a-colonial-legacy has undergone a process of reinvention affecting the federal-local connection (South Africa, Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nepal, Palau, Federated States of Micronesia; St. Kitts and Nevis; United Arab Emirates; and Pakistan).

'A story of friendship like no other... breathtaking in its tenderness and inspiration.' The Hon. Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO Two incredible women, an unlikely friendship, and a united mission to save the lives of some of the world's poorest and most desperate women. Healing Lives reveals the untold tale of Mamitu Gashe, Dr Catherine Hamlin's protégée, and the inspiring almost 60-year friendship between the two women. In 1962, three years after Drs Catherine and Reg Hamlin arrived in Ethiopia, an illiterate peasant girl sought their aid. Mamitu Gashe was close to death and horrifically injured during childbirth after an arranged marriage - at the age of just fourteen to a man she'd never met - in a remote mountain village. The Hamlins' Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital saved her and, in return, Mamitu dedicated her life to Catherine's mission. Under the iconic doctor's guidance, Mamitu went from mopping floors and comforting her fellow patients, to becoming one of the most acclaimed fistula surgeons in the world, despite never having had a day's schooling. This is the moving story of the friendship that saved the lives of over 60,000 of the poorest women on earth. SHORTLISTED FOR THE AUSTRALIAN CHRISTIAN BOOK OF THE YEAR AWARD 2021
