This book summarizes the latest knowledge in the science and technology of ionic liquids and polymers in different areas. Ionic liquids (IL) are actively being investigated in polymer science and technology for a number of different applications. In the first part of the book the authors present the particular properties of ionic liquids as speciality solvents. The state-of-the art in the use of ionic liquids in polymer synthesis and modification reactions including polymer recycling is outlined. The second part focuses on the use of ionic liquids as speciality additives such as plasticizers or antistatic agents. The third part examines the use of ionic liquids in the design of functional polymers (usually called polymeric ionic liquids (PIL) or poly(ionic liquids)). Many important applications in diverse scientific and industrial areas rely on these polymers, like polymer electrolytes in electrochemical devices, building blocks in materials science, nanocomposites, gas membranes, innovative anion sensitive materials, smart surfaces, and a countless set range of emerging applications in different fields such as energy, optoelectronics, analytical chemistry, biotechnology, nanomedicine or catalysis.

IBM® Rational® Application Developer for WebSphere® Software V7.0 (for short, Rational Application Developer) is the full function Eclipse 3.2 based development platform for developing JavaTM 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SETM ) and Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EETM ) applications with a focus on applications to be deployed to IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM WebSphere Portal. Rational Application Developer provides integrated development tools for all development roles, including Web developers, Java developers, business analysts, architects, and enterprise programmers. Rational Application Developer is part of the IBM Rational Software Delivery Platform (SDP), which contains products in four life cycle categories: - Architecture management, which includes integrated development environments (Application Developer is here) - Change and release management - Process and portfolio management - Quality management This IBM Redbooks® publication is a programming guide that highlights the features and tooling included with Rational Application Developer V7.0. Many of the chapters provide working examples that demonstrate how to use the tooling to develop applications, as well as achieve the benefits of visual and rapid application development. This publication is an update of Rational Application Developer V6 Programming Guide, SG24-6449. This book consists of six parts: - Introduction to Rational Application Developer - Develop applications - Test and debug applications - Deploy and profile applications - Team development - Appendixes

This IBM® Red paper books® publication is divided into three parts: Part 1, "Introduction" on page1, provides an introduction to message-oriented middleware and the WebSphere® MQ product. We discuss the concept of messaging, explaining what is new in WebSphere MQ V7.0 and how it is implemented. An overview is provided on how it fits within the service-oriented architecture (SOA) framework. Part 2, "WebSphere MQ V7.0 enhancements and changes" on page 41, explains the new WebSphere MQ V7.0 features and enhancements in detail and includes compatibility and the migration considerations from the previous supported versions. Part 3, "Scenario" on page253, contains a scenario that demonstrates how the new features and enhancements work and how to use them. The sample programs and scripts used for this scenario are available for download by following the instructions in Appendix B, "Additional material" on page379.
