The mathematical challenges coming from the social and behavioral sciences differ significantly from typical applied mathematical concerns. ?Change,? for instance, is ubiquitous, but without knowing the fundamental driving force, standard differential and iterative methods are not appropriate. To design and develop capable, dependable, and affordable intelligent systems, their performance must be measurable. Scienti?c methodologies for standardization and benchmarking are crucial for quantitatively evaluating the performance of eme- ing robotic and intelligent systems’ technologies.
