Take an evolutionary journey through time and space in an unexpected vegan book that includes branding, hunting, spanking, torture, death and cannibalism. 21st Century Historian (Gentile Rainn): On occasion, before dying out and destroying themselves, the meat-eaters were seen hanging around back alleys of pubs drinking and fighting, sometimes sodomizing each other. 21st Century Historian (Herb Dean): If you look at things with hindsight, the meat-eaters never really had a chance. I mean, they were so hypocritical to the point where they would have one animal, whom they loved and cared for, living with them (Some of these animals were referred to as dogs. Note the dyslexic reference to God), and in the same moment would bleed and suffer another animal so they could devour its charred flesh for supper. Local Vegan (Said Huster): The idea that vegetarians and meat-eaters were both Homo sapiens is a post-mortem thought gone the way of the moo-cow. Homo sapiens were by nature very self-gratifying. In other words, they didn't care what they murdered or whom they hurt in crimes of hunger and passion. They acted very cruelly towards one another. Religions were developed to try to right these instinctual behaviors, but these religions did little to deter most Homo sapiens hell-bent on self-delusions of pride. Sometime around the turn of the twenty-fourth century, the first true Homo nexus was born. (See also Homo vegetare.) 21st Century Historian (Herb Dean): Moo-cows became extinct, though it is unknown whether this happened before or after the demise of the human (meat-eater) omnivore. A strain of CuuD Disease (almost always spelled capital C, lower case u, lower case u, capital D), a mutation of mad cow disease, killed roughly 99 percent of the cows, roughly two-thirds of the carnivores on the land, and most human omnivores. It is believed the other human omnivores destroyed themselves through wars, terrorist acts and unhealthy diets, or starved to death rather than eat vegetables. 21st Century Historian (Willow Whittier): It is said the last meat-eater died sometime around the turn of the 23rd century. His name was said to have been Ronald McDonald.

PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT P.E.T.A (people for the ethical treatment of animals) This is a cookbook to satisfy those curious about trying vegan food or for those who already eat vegan, who want more flavour in their everyday life. I often hear the question, "what do vegans eat?." In this book you can pick and chose recipes or you can follow (summer or winter recipes) a weekly or monthly eating plan to revitalise health and shift excess weight. This book is a simple way to integrate more strengthening and preventative foods into your diet. You could make a permanent fixture of Peta's VEGAN TWIST eating 1 day a week for your family, or go on a 1 - 4 week (winter or summer recipes) eating plan. As with most things in life, being organised is key or things just don't get done. The convenient weekly shopping lists are designed to take the hassle out of trying something new, if you embark on a weekly eating plan. There are no quick fixes and packet mixes that can give you the health buzz you crave. Putting in some time and effort will give top results. The philosophy behind the book is taste. I was often disappointed with vegan recipes that failed to satisfy in the taste department. I wanted every meal to be satisfying (taste and filling) and be healthy, so that when I finished eating I wasn't feeling that overindulging guilt and wasn't planing the next days meagre pickings to compensate. I like eating tasty food. I like carbohydrates. I hate counting calories. I like knowing that what I am eating makes me healthy now and for the long run. I hate pounding out the exercise for little visible gain; if I have not been eating the right foods, no amount of exercise will shift that mass. A balanced vegan eating plan is a brilliant catalyst for obtaining a slim figure with moderate gentle exercise. Hopefully this book will share some of my ideas and help people with busy lives to integrate some vegan cooking into their weekly routine. For those of you who already eat vegan, I hope you will be inspired by some fresh and tasty Peta's VEGAN TWIST ideas for your menu!

Veganism is a type of diet that can be adapted for any age and gender. Research has shown that going on a vegan diet can help lower cholesterol levels. It also helps the dieter avoid certain types of diseases such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and certain types of cancer. As always, you'll want to start out gradually by taking it step by step. Most diets fail when the person tries to do too much and expect too much too soon. The best way to get on the diet is to take baby steps to help the dieter adapt to this new lifestyle in the long run. Some of these steps include removing meat and any animal products one meal at a time. You can also avoid meat for certain meals of the day. Another step that you can take in your journey towards having a vegan lifestyle is to hang out with like minded people. Spend time with vegans in forums and especially in groups. This helps you learn and adapt best practices as well as share your thoughts and opinions with other vegans. Many people believe that vegans lack variety in their diet due to the absence of meat and dairy products. Nothing could be further from the truth. Having a vegan diet actually allows the person to experience a wider variety of food as he starts to try a wide array of fruits, vegetables, grains, seeds and pulses. These types of food are filled with micronutrients and fiber that are not present in meat and dairy products.
