Arent Isaaczen Van Hoeck was born in 1623 in Hookseil, Oldenburg, Germany. He married Sara van de Cliet 30 March 1652 in Amsterdam. He married Geertje Everts in January 1655, they emigrated that spring and settled in New Amsterdam. They had six children. He married Styntie Laurens in 1665 in New York and they had five children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in New York, North Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky.
