""UndocuStudents: Our Untold Stories,"" is a collection of essays, poetry, photographs, and artwork created by members of the Blue Group, an Associated Students Club at Western Washington University (WWU), whose mission is to provide undocumented students the opportunity to meet other undocumented students, find resources and services, and to build community. Undocumented students face a number of pressures and stresses that are unique to their student experience because of their status. This book offers all readers insight and perspective based on the creative outputs originating from some of the undocumented students of WWU. In writing this book, the Blue Group students offer the readers, be they documented or undocumented immigrants, a way to connect with them and with each other. Proceeds from the sale of this book go towards supporting undocumented students at WWU.

Museums have lengthy history, going back to the Renaissance Cabinets of Curiosity, and they are indices of changing fashions of perception insofar as the categories museum curators use to classify objects change over time. The major focus of Tyburczy s study is sexuality on display, which sets up, in turn, her investigation of the effects of museum display on the history of sexuality. Historical context for the museum is one of her themes (and how categories of normacly and perversity change over time), with another themes being the work of sex museums n redefining what sex means in the modern public sphere; she also folds in consideration of the pleasures and dangers of exhibiting marginalized sexual subjects (women, nonwhite races, LGBT individuals, and the like); last, she explores the paradox of asserting (as she does) that all museums are sex museums bodies move around and toward objects on display, they reshape the typical dances of museum-goers along with their preconscious motivations in visiting a museum. She proposes that explicit display or restagings of sexual artifacts provides new ways for approaching and understanding issues of desire, sexual identity, and sexual practices as they intersect with the history of the modern museum and with sexual history during the past two centuries. Her fieldwork sites are: the Leather Archives & Museum in Chicago, the Museum of Sex in New York, the World Erotic Art Museum in Miami Beach, and El Museo del Sexo in Mexico City. Such institutions allow Tyburczy to show how alternative sexuality (inclusive of kink, fetish, and sadomasochistic cultures) and slavery dangerously crisscross on the surface of objects. There are plenty of cases here, in short, to keep the casual reader titillated and the erudite reader surprised."

Visual Data Mining—Opening the Black Box Knowledge discovery holds the promise of insight into large, otherwise opaque datasets. There have been some impressive research activities over the past few years but the question to be asked is why is visual data mining only now being - vestigated commercially? Certainly, there have been arguments for visual data 2 mining for a number of years – Ankerst and others argued in 2002 that current (autonomous and opaque) analysis techniques are ine?cient, as they fail to - rectly embed the user in dataset exploration and that a better solution involves the user and algorithm being more tightly coupled. Grinstein stated that the “current state of the art data mining tools are automated, but the perfect data mining tool is interactive and highly participatory,” while Han has suggested that the “data selection and viewing of mining results should be fully inter- tive, the mining process should be more interactive than the current state of the 2 art and embedded applications should be fairly automated . ” A good survey on 3 techniques until 2003 was published by de Oliveira and Levkowitz .
