This book discusses the potential of travel behaviour modification (TBM) as a persuasive tool to promote low-carbon mobility among adolescents on Penang Island by highlighting the role of bus usage in a sustainable urban lifestyle. The participants of the Reduce Carbon Footprint Campaign, which aimed to create sustainable transport and pro-environmental awareness among adolescents, were recruited from secondary schools on Penang Island. Campaign materials, such as bus routes maps and discount travel cards for students, were provided by Rapid Penang, the leading bus operator in Penang. The campaign also involved several intervention programmes, including motivational sessions and classes for travel journey planning.

Sustainable Transportation and Smart Logistics: Decision-Making Models and Solutions provides deterministic and probabilistic models for transportation logistics problem-solving and decision-making. The book presents an overview of the intersections between sustainability, transportation, and logistics, and delves into the current problems associated with the implementation of sustainable transportation and smart logistics in urban settings. It also offers models for addressing complex structural problems and procedures for estimating transportation externalities such as environmental and social impacts, both in industrial and government arenas, as well as decision-making models from operational, tactical, and strategic management perspectives. Sustainable Transportation and Smart Logistics also covers best practices for practical corporate policy implementation, making it a comprehensive and vital resource for researchers, graduate students, practitioners, and policy makers in transportation, logistics, urban planning, economics, engineering, and environmental science. - Examines various modes of transportation - Includes mathematical models for decision-making in a wide variety of situations - Presents public transportation and smart cities use cases

Multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) and extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB) are increasingly encountered in resource-limited settings. In the context of a national response to MDR- and XDR-TB, health workers in TB clinics (in district hospitals and some accredited health centers) will need to diagnose MDR-TB, initiate second-line anti-TB drugs, and monitor MDR-TB treatment. This Field Guide was created to help health workers carry out these tasks. It is a job aid that medical officers and TB nurses are meant to use frequently during the day for quick reference. It is based on the Emergency Update 2008 of Guidelines for Programmatic Management of Drug-resistant Tuberculosis, and may be considered a companion document to these guidelines. It also draws on the experience of the international health NGO Partners In Health (PIH) in many countries. This module should be introduced to health workers in the context of a training course with a strong emphasis on TB-HIV co-management.
