While of some species several hundred examples of each have been examined, there are others oi' which the material has been so 'meagre that I am not satisfied and have little doubt that some of the names given here as species will prove to be synonyms. I take this opportunity to extend my most sincere thanks to each and all who have rendered me assistance in any way, and especially to all those in the different parts of the country who have so generously placed their entire collections of Tortricids in my hands for study, but more particularly to those who have so cheerfully granted me unlimited opportunities to study the types, for without this there was little hope of anything short of utter confusion in our nomenclature of these insects.
