Sara is walking home from work one night. She hears police sirens and takes a different route to normal, to avoid any trouble. On her detour, she inadvertently witnesses a man being shot by a group of men in suits. But, they see her... The men grab Sara and discuss how they can dispose of her. She tries to convince them that she'll keep quiet, but they don't believe her. "Promises mean nothing," another one says sharply. "Dead witnesses can't talk." The men mutter among themselves for a few seconds, and Sara tries to escape but to no avail. She slammed powerfully into the wall of a person standing right behind her. Just as the other guys recognize that she's restrained once again, the man pulls her to one side and away from everyone else. He then bundles her into a car and they speed off. Is Sara being rescued or dragged into deeper danger? WARNING - This story has hot and steamy content and is not suitable for all ages. 18+

The predominant “stewardship model” of creation is the result of an intentional effort to correct approaches that reinforce human sovereignty and the resulting environmental degradation. However, as All God’s Creatures argues, the stewardship model actually does not offer a correction but rather reinscribes many of the very same pitfalls. After close analysis of the stewardship model, this book identifies scriptural, theological, and philosophical sources to support the adoption of a “community of creation” paradigm. Drawing on postcolonial theory, this book proposes the concept of “planetarity” as a framework for conceiving the relationship between human and nonhuman creation, and the Creator, in a new way. This theoretical framework is grounded by a retrieval of the medieval Franciscan theological and philosophical tradition. The result is what can be called a postcolonial Franciscan theology of creation imagined in terms of planetarity, providing a constructive and nonanthropocentric response to the need for a new conceptualization of the doctrine of creation.

The famed thinker and writer, C.S. Lewis, addressed issues that were paramount and pressing for religious persons in his time. In this volume, and in honor of Lewis, experts in their fields examine topics and challenges that face Christians living their faith today. Originally delivered as invited public lectures in a decade-long series--The Annual C.S. Lewis Legacy Lectures at Westminster College in Missouri--they include faith and reason, theological imagination, religion and ecology, the life and thought of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, antisemitism, Native American spirituality, science and religion, racism and poverty in the ministry and social action of Martin Luther King, Jr., misconceptions of Islam, religious pluralism, and religion and violence. The authors argue that these issues must be acknowledged and confronted in order for Christianity to remain, or to become relevant, in the current century.

For more than a generation, Rabbi Michael L. Munk, as a sidelight to his busy schedule of educational and communal work, has fascinated audiences with his learned and provocative lectures on the Hebrew alphabet. In the process of opening eyes and raising eyebrows, he has convinced countless people that his contention is true: the Hebrew alphabet abounds in scholarly and mystical meaning. He has developed and proven a profound thesis. The alphabet -- if correctly understood -- is a primer for life. Ethical conduct, religious guidance, philosophical insights, all are nestled in the curls, crowns, and combinations of the Hebrew letters. This is one of those rare books that is both interesting and profound, learned and readable. The wisdom and compassion of the author is evident in those subtle ways that do not intrude on the reader, but give him the satisfaction of knowing that a rich, warm, productive lifetime of experience is flavoring the text.

This book examines what Deuteronomy has to say about human rights and the role of government, culture, and investment in creating a flourishing and prosperous society. By exploring the political-economic principles Deuteronomy lays out as well as other parts of the Bible, Baugus argues that those principles are still applicable today and can be valuable in helping developing nations to become prosperous and in helping developed nations, many of which seem to have lost sight of these principles, stay that way. Milk and Honey will be of interest to scholars and students who are curious about what the ancient foundational texts of Western civilization have to say about prosperity, growth, and what a flourishing political economy looks like.
