Alcoa Presents: One Step Beyond made its television debut in 1959, nine months before Rod Serling's classic The Twilight Zone, and paved the way for a generation of television programs devoted to paranormal topics such as the occult, ESP, and ghost stories. One Step Beyond was also where some of Hollywood's most famous leading men, including Warren Beatty, William Shatner, and Charles Bronson, got their starts in television. This complete reference work to the 96 half-hour episodes that ran for three seasons on ABC also offers a detailed history, extensive commentary and summaries of the critical reception of One Step Beyond as well as coverage of the sequel series produced in 1978 entitled The Next Step Beyond. Complete credits for both series are provided.

At the centre of this wonderful book is the great Columbia River-rich with history, myth, and riverfolk, as well as progress and its effects. Cody's canoe trip from the Columbia's Canadian headwaters to where it meets the Pacific Ocean, churns up a lively portrait of the river and the land through which it courses. The Los Angeles Times Book Review praised the hardcover edition with "Voyage is neither an environmental treatise nor a search for [Cody's] own soul. It's about the taming of a river and, from water level, what that taming has meant.....Cody is a clear writer with strong descriptive powers." The hardcover edition was awarded the 1996 PNBA Award.

The sixth-century voyage of St Brendan from Ireland to America, is one of the most fascinating of all sea legends. Could the myth of the Irish monk and his crew sailing the Atlantic in a boat made of leather, nearly a thousand years before Columbus, have been reality? In 1976, Tim Severin and a crew of four men, set out to recreate the Brendan legend. Using the exact same methods in constructing their sailing vessel, they set out on their hazardous voyage, making it one of the most inspiring expeditions in the history of exploration.

The thrilling adventure of Lady Trent continues in Marie Brennan's Voyage of the Basilisk . . . Devoted readers of Lady Trent's earlier memoirs, A Natural History of Dragons and The Tropic of Serpents, may believe themselves already acquainted with the particulars of her historic voyage aboard the Royal Survey Ship Basilisk, but the true story of that illuminating, harrowing, and scandalous journey has never been revealed—until now. Six years after her perilous exploits in Eriga, Isabella embarks on her most ambitious expedition yet: a two-year trip around the world to study all manner of dragons in every place they might be found. From feathered serpents sunning themselves in the ruins of a fallen civilization to the mighty sea serpents of the tropics, these creatures are a source of both endless fascination and frequent peril. Accompanying her is not only her young son, Jake, but a chivalrous foreign archaeologist whose interests converge with Isabella's in ways both professional and personal. Science is, of course, the primary objective of the voyage, but Isabella's life is rarely so simple. She must cope with storms, shipwrecks, intrigue, and warfare, even as she makes a discovery that offers a revolutionary new insight into the ancient history of dragons. The Lady Trent Memoirs 1. Angelic guidance inspired Lindsley Cash to gather a group of channellers, mediums and healers with the aim of using their gifts to receive messages from souls in the spirit world who were ready to return to earth and begin their next incarnation. During these sessions, the group found they were able to ‘fast-track’ many souls through the protocol of departure. The returning energies came from all levels of society, had a wide range of former occupations and passed at all ages. Their stories are earthy and amusing, sobering or poignant - and some are very dark. Once reborn, and by personal intention, some of these fast-tracked beings are destined to hold the power of the future in their hands!

Freediving in the early 1950s Setting himself up as a diving guide in Sri Lanka in the early 1950s, his services were in high demand by wealthy celebrities seeking new interests, especially spearfishing. Many invited him to their homes, leading to a lifestyle and fame that he hardly knew existed. Later both Hans Hass and Jacques Cousteau offered him employment. The diversity of his free diving experiences is fascinating. As the first person to dive in The Maldives, Thailand and Southern India, he became a diving legend. In 1965 he set out to sail around the world on a Chinese junk filmed by award-winning underwater photographer Ben Kropp and diving on virgin reefs with famed explorer Jacques Dumas. Finally, he became a highly successful commercial diver in Singapore. The different kinds of diving work he performed were astounding, including an underwater ship cleaning venture with Exxon, resulting in a fortune he never anticipated. Buying a leading hotel in Pattaya, Thailand he set up the first significant PADI diving outfit in the country. Branching out into many other businesses, he led a flamboyant lifestyle, counting Kings, Presidents and well-known film stars among his friends. Amazingly, he hardly ever used SCUBA for his work, but diving almost entirely without it achieved a lifestyle all but impossible today. Anyone interested in freediving should read this book.

A few months after Crisp died in 1643 were published a small collection of his Sermons, published under the title "Christ Alone Exalted," and over the next 3 years {1643-46} where published two additional volumes, with prefaces by Mr. Robert Lancaster, Mr. George Cockayn, and Mr. Henry Pinnell. These messages were all taken down in short-hand writing, during their delivery, and compared with Crisp's own sermon notes, or taken from them. In 1690, a new edition of these Sermons was printed, with an addition of ten more taken from the Author's notes, by his son Samuel Crisp; and again in 1755 by John Gill. This edition, is a fresh attempt to assemble together all the Sermons of Crisp in two volumes, {accompanied by the explanatory notes of John Gill, } along with every preface; and a new biographical sketch, which may shed a bit of further light on the life of one who was of that Spirit infused determination to preach nothing but Christ crucified.
