This eclectic play dramatises the desperate nature of man, which propels him to devise fraudulent ways out of difficult situations, an act that results in contentions arising from collision of conflicting forces. Before the climax of the play, a prologue and four preceding parts provide a buildup to the final part, which marks the convergence of the performing arts professionals whose works the play projects. The prologue catalogues pockets of infractions that this world is made of and which have deprived the society of the much-needed peace. In part 1, Old Man, a divine personality, calls three people into being: Alujo, Arinjo, and Awoko, who surprisingly are versatile in the arts of performance. An attempt at fraudulent practices and theft form the conflicts in parts 2 to 4, all of which are resolved by Old Man, but not without strong moral impartations. The final part climaxes as a melting pot of the performing arts as three versatile professionals Alujo, Arinjo, and Awokolock horn in an attempt to win the heart of King Adetokes daughter. However, the kings dishonest intent draws the ire of Old Man whose intervention further strengthens the arts of the performers.

Integrating Bible stories that stretch across the centuries from each other along with a background of secular history and current events, Unbroken Cord uncovers the link that ties them all together. This book is what many believers have been looking for: an easily understood synthesis between Old and New Testaments, past and present. Combining a tourist's enthusiasm for exploration along with a love for detail and scripture, the author provides information that includes today's news, ancient prophecy, and a good bit of backstory. Each of the twelve chapters is written with the goal of distilling its specific topic into an explanation that makes sense to the average person. Even if the reader lacks background regarding Biblical History or the current geopolitical situation, subjects that have previously seemed overly complicated or fuzzy, begin to fall into place. Since most everyone has fallen through the scholastic cracks at some point, each chapter is presented as an opportunity for some much needed "catch-up" information. The book is a personal tutoring session and survey approach to understanding Israel's place within the context of a modern Christian worldview. It turns out that the Bible is full of mystery. Unbroken Cord unlocks secrets about God's Calendar, fleshes out origins of the Middle East conflict, examines prophecies concerning Israel's future population boom and explores Jerusalem - from her distant past and into the age to come.

In boyhood, Louis Zamperini was an incorrigible delinquent. As a teenager, he channeled his defiance into running, discovering a prodigious talent that had carried him to the Berlin Olympics. But when World War II began, the athlete became an airman, embarking on a journey that led to a doomed flight on a May afternoon in 1943. When his Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean, against all odds, Zamperini survived, adrift on a foundering life raft. Ahead of Zamperini lay thousands of miles of open ocean, leaping sharks, thirst and starvation, enemy aircraft, and, beyond, a trial even greater. Driven to the limits of endurance, Zamperini would answer desperation with ingenuity; suffering with hope, resolve, and humor; brutality with rebellion. His fate, whether triumph or tragedy, would be suspended on the fraying wire of his will. Recent advances in the field of fracture of engineering materials and structures have increasingly indicated its multidisciplinary nature. This area of research now involves scientists and engineers who work in materials science, applied mathematics and mechanics, and also computer scientists. The present volume, which contains the Proceedings of the Joint FEFG/lCF International Conference on Fracture of Engineering Materials and Structures held in Singapore from the 6th to 8th of August 1991, is a testimony of this multidisciplinary nature. This International Conference was the Second Symposium of the Far East Fracture Group (FEFG) and thus provided a unique opportunity for researchers and engineers in the Far East region to exchange and acquire knowledge of new advances and applications in fracture. The Conference was also the Inter-Quadrennial International Conference on Fracture (ICF) for 1991 and thus appealed to researchers in the international arena who wished to take advantage of this meeting to present their findings. The Conference has brought together over 130 participants from more than 24 countries, and they represented government and industrial research laboratories as well as academic institutions. It has thus achieved its objective of bringing together scientists and engineers with different backgrounds and perspectives but with . a common interest in new developments in the fracture of engineering materials and structures. This volume contains 4 keynote papers, 4 invited papers and 130 contributed papers.
