Some people think that certain dreams can transcend time and warn about a crucial event which can have such a big impact that it can totally change one’s life. And so is the toreador’s dream, which plagues Danny’s life repeatedly, a young, troubled boy who lives in New Jersey. In hope that he will find the true meaning of his dream and also the roots of his newfound ability in order to get in the state of mind where he possesses incredible speed and becomes a superb fighter, he travels to Mexico to talk to his uncle about his grandfather - the famous Mexican toreador. The string of events, among which are meeting the genius Mexican boy, finding the woman of his life and coming in conflict with a drug lord, inevitably lead him towards a crucial moment when the decision if he will live or die is on the edge and out of his hands. Vanco Ristov is a retired army officer who resides in New Zealand with his lovely wife and overly energetic dog Bonnie who occupies his time enough that he doesn’t need any recreational activities. The Toreador’s Dream is his first novel. His second piece of work is a complete sci-fi/action novel which offers a new insight on the meaning of life. Alexander Ristov is an actor living in NYC where he has been residing for the last 15 years. He has written a screenplay in the past, but this is his first novel. He is a martial artist for over 25 years. In NYC he has acted in numerous theatre and TV shows. In his spare time, he likes to cook and watch cartoons.

The story is told on two levels: one comic and one bitter. The blustery sex farce concerns a general who fancies himself to be a toreador with the ladies, but he is disgusted with himself and the hollowness of his triumphs. Among the author's most psychologically compelling works, the New York premiere featured Ralph Richardson and Mildred Natwick.

Robertson Davies (1913-1995) had a remarkable literary career that extended through the entire second half of the 20th century. Chronicling his time as editor of the Peterborough Examiner, his role as the founding master of Massey College and most of all his life as a writer - from the failure of a play in New York to the beginnings of an idea for a novel that would become Fifth Business (1970) - A Celtic Temperament is entertaining and illuminating and a major addition to Davies' body of work.

August Strindberg is one of the founders of the modern theater. George Bernard Shaw considered him "the only genuinely Shakespearian modern dramatist," Sean O'Casey called him "the greatest of them all." And to Eugene O'Neill he was "the greatest interpreter in the theater of the characteristic spiritual conflicts of our lives today." Twelve Major Plays includes the most famous and most characteristic Strindberg plays. This selection is particularly interesting in its depiction of the great range of Strindberg's moods and styles, from naturalism to expressionism, from ironic comedy to bitter tragedy. It displays his great gift for symbolic, mystical verse as well as his command of dramatic prose. In issues of sex and gender, Strindberg anticipated the modern temperament in society and drama alike. These translations gave American readers their first opportunity to know the true genius of Strindberg. Most previous versions in English had been based on existing German translations. Elizabeth Sprigge's unique achievement was to render the original Swedish texts into English that is at once fluent and accurate and that captures the full vigor and impact of the original plays.
