Little information is available on the labour force in the forest management services industry, with the exception of two 1987 studies from B.C. This report augments this information with data gathered in eastern Ontario in a joint 1989 study by Forestry Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources. Silviculture workers were surveyed in forest renewal, site preparation, stand tending, and nursery activities areas. The survey covered personal, social, economic and occupational areas, and was conducted through interviews with the workers.
