"The Sheep Rise Up" is about crimes at the highest corporate levels, and the people who commit them. Kristen O'Hara is General Counsel of Enterprise, Inc., and single mom of a college-age daughter. Her pompous and overbearing boss, President Peter Preston, and his yes man, Chief Financial Officer Richard Axel, attempt to persuade Kristen to sign a representation letter she believes to be untrue. Their aim is to avoid the need to properly reflect a significant liability in the company's year end financial statements. If Kristen sticks to her ethical high ground, the company's outstanding long-term debt could become immediately payable, devastating the company and taking the exective officers' personal finances down with it. Based on anonymous information, Kristen suspects that $1.5 billion has been embezzled from Enterprise, explaining recent cash shortages. Kristen seeks the advice of Frank Atwater, her former boss and mentor at a prestigious law firm. Frank encourages her to hire Steve Sachs, a longtime friend and private investigator extraordinaire who thinks of every trick in the book. "The Guy," an underworld figure who would do whatever he deemed necessary toachieve the goals of his client, lives up to his reputation and ultimately threatens the lives of Kristen and her daughter. The action of "The Sheep Rise Up" moves from private offices and boardrooms to public parks, jazz clubs, and hotels, with many surprises along the way.

When God created men, He had a very specific purpose in mind: They were born to have dominion over life and meant to know God as their Father and His son as their savior. Similar to the way our physical body rises up and releases its seed to bring forth the life of a child, God desires that we spiritually rise up and release our seed of faith. Mark Christopher Folan, who has spent more than three decades serving the Lord, and as a minister of the Gospel, shares vital components of serving the Lord in this guide to rising up in faith as men of God. By living and promoting godly principles, the author urges everyone to declare God’s desires to a lost and dying world. Moreover, he encourages us to always be ready to speak our faith while standing ready to help others move closer to the Lord. It is of the utmost importance that we come to know God’s ways of shaping us, to learn how we might fulfill our destiny, and become the great men of God that we are destined to be. Discover the amazing possibilities before you and rise up!

Valuable not only for their sublime musical expression, the African American spirituals give us profound insights into the human condition and the Christian life. Many focus on an essential scene of the Christian drama: the coming of God as the child in Bethlehem and as the hope of the world and the liberator of God's oppressed people. In these devotions for the season of Advent, Luke Powery leads the reader through the spirituals as they confront the mystery of incarnation and redemption. In Rise Up, Shepherd! each devotion features the lyrics of the spiritual, a reflection on the spiritual's meaning, a Scripture verse, and a brief prayer.

The never before told true story of a group of multi-racial, multi-denominational pastors in a Katrina-ravaged New Orleans. Not unlike Old Testament times, odds were stacked against them in such an impossible way that the outcome would seem completely hopeless and utter defeat inevitable were it not for God. With division so deep within Gods church in the Crescent City, it could have easily sunk to its death in the flood waters, but when God appeared inevitable defeat became certain victory. Ordinary people began to accomplish extraordinary things. Miracles became common place and hope was restored. God had not forgotten The City That Care Forgot.
