Thom Hartmann’s own dramatic spiritual journey that illuminates specific techniques for achieving spiritual transformation • Recounts travels to the farthest corners of the earth in pursuit of universal spiritual truths • Reveals the teachings of Hartmann’s spiritual guides, providing an intimate glimpse into his relationship with German mystic Herr Müller • Offers practices and techniques for readers seeking to grow spiritually In the course of his work for the charitable organization Salem, Thom Hartmann personally witnessed famine in Uganda, chaos in Russia, and genocide in Colombia--all signs that modern cultures have lost the connection to the sacred, both within and without, that was emblematic of older cultures. To truly flourish, the human spirit needs to be present in its surroundings and attuned to the Now. It needs to act on what it knows is possible and to experience how the smallest actions can have massive consequences. This is the reality of the Prophet’s Way, a path--both literal and figurative--that the author walked with his spiritual mentor Herr Müller that skirts the edge of the precipice, where one can experience a truly spontaneous life under seemingly overwhelming and impossible circumstances. In The Prophet’s Way, Thom Hartmann shares his intense spiritual journey, a story that melds recent discoveries in science with ancient truths. Through insightful and engaging vignettes Hartmann teaches that accepting the challenge to have faith means living on the edge--remaining in the moment--because it is here where the material and spiritual worlds meet. He offers readers a unique view into his experiences of expanded consciousness, providing a powerful example of how we can re-create our future by reconnecting to the sacred heartbeat of the world.

There are many teaching methods with different means and aids. Correcting mistakes is one of these teaching methods and educationalists call is the "remedial method." Correcting people's mistakes is essential if teaching people is the aim. Correcting mistakes is a divine method the Prophet (pbuh) practiced as the Qur'an was sometimes revealed to correct some mistakes of the Sahabah (companions of the Prophet). The Prophet (pbuh) was divinely guided in correcting the mistakes of people. So his methods are the best mankind has ever known. Following the example of the Prophet (pbuh) is therefore the best approach if one is really keen to teach Islamic knowledge and all the other branches of knowledge. The author has in this book compiled many methods of the Prophet (pbuh) for teaching people and correcting their mistakes. This book, as such, is indispensable for everyone who is concerned with education in general, and Islamic knowledge in particular.

"This book examines the liberation journey that is the heart of the Hebrew Scriptures. The work begins with a careful reading of narrative, prophetic and legal texts from the Hebrew Scriptures. All of these texts reveal exodus, the journey from constriction, as a fundamental biblical concern. After showing how the message of the Hebrew Prophets represents a consistent theme throughout Scripture, the author traces the further refinement of these liberation themes in contemporary writers and prophets such as Abraham Joshua Heschel, Martin Buber, Paulo Freire, Gustavo Guttiâerez, Erich Fromm, Martin Luther King, Beverly Harrison, Maya Angelou, Robin Wall Kimmerer and bell hooks. The book shows how the insights of these prophets, ancient and modern, offer guidance for confronting current challenges for readers of all faiths and backgrounds"--Provided by publisher.

In this gripping narrative history, Lesley Hazleton tells the tragic story at the heart of the ongoing rivalry between the Sunni and Shia branches of Islam, a rift that dominates the news now more than ever. Even as Muhammad lay dying, the battle over who would take control of the new Islamic nation had begun, beginning a succession crisis marked by power grabs, assassination, political intrigue, and passionate faith. Soon Islam was embroiled in civil war, pitting its founder's controversial wife Aisha against his son-in-law Ali, and shattering Muhammad’s ideal of unity. Combining meticulous research with compelling storytelling, After the Prophet explores the volatile intersection of religion and politics, psychology and culture, and history and current events. It is an indispensable guide to the depth and power of the Shia–Sunni split.

Best Book of the Year NPR • The Washington Post • Boston Globe • TIME • USA Today • Entertainment Weekly • Real Simple • Parade • Buzzfeed • Electric Literature • LitHub • BookRiot • PopSugar • Goop • Library Journal • BookBub • KCRW • Finalist for the National Book Award • One of the New York Times Notable Books of the Year • One of the New York Times Best Historical Fiction of the Year • Instant New York Times Bestseller A singular and stunning debut novel about the forbidden union between two enslaved young men on a Deep South plantation, the refuge they find in each other, and a betrayal that threatens their existence. Isaiah was Samuel's and Samuel was Isaiah's. That was the way it was since the beginning, and the way it was to be until the end. In the barn they tended to the animals, but also to each other, transforming the hollowed-out shed into a place of human refuge, a source of intimacy and hope in a world ruled by vicious masters. But when an older man—a fellow slave—seeks to gain favor by preaching the master's gospel on the plantation, the enslaved begin to turn on their own. Isaiah and Samuel's love, which was once so simple, is seen as sinful and a clear danger to the plantation's harmony. With a lyricism reminiscent of Toni Morrison, Robert Jones, Jr., fiercely summons the voices of slaver and enslaved alike, from Isaiah and Samuel to the calculating slave master to the long line of women that surround them, women who have carried the soul of the plantation on their shoulders. As tensions build and the weight of centuries—of ancestors and future generations to come—culminates in a climactic reckoning, The Prophets fearlessly reveals the pain and suffering of inheritance, but is also shot through with hope, beauty, and truth, portraying the enormous, heroic power of love.

When I wrote the first edition of this book, "Worship Your Lord," which is the second book of the Right Belief Series, I indented to connect Volume I "Know Your Lord" with Volume II "Worship Your Lord." I am simply saying the correct knowledge of Allah (s.w.t) must lead to worshipping Him. I also intend for the content to help the readers familiarize themselves with the different categories of Monotheism (Tawheed). I intend to simplify the subject of Monotheism (Tawheed), which can help advance the Call of Monotheism (Tawheed), especially for Muslims living in the West. Furthermore, this book will acquaint Muslims with the methodology of understanding of the faithful adherents (Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama'ah) to the Quran and the Prophetic Tradition (Sunnah). Until recently, something shocking happened. A Layman Muslim asked Yasir Qadhi the following question: “What is the ruling on invoking the engraved saints (Awlyia)?” Yasir Qadhi answered him publicly, saying, “…The second opinion is the opinion that invoking the saints (Awliya)… it is Haram (Unlawful), and it is evil, and evil innovation, a religions innovation, a Bid’ah, and it is a steppingstone to Shirk (Polytheism). It is opening the doors to Shirk (Polytheism). But it is not Shirk(Polytheism) in and of itself unless that action is accompanied by a belief that you are calling out to a god. I myself am an advocate of this second position.” It was shocking to witness someone who is knowingly and willfully encouraging grave worshiping when it is a clear-cut demolition of the Universal Declaration of Faith (Lā ilāha illa Allāh). Yet the hearts of his fans, loyalists remain neutral, and their tongues remain silent? Lā ilāha illa Allāh comprises two pillars: the complete negation of any form of worship to others than Allah (s.w.t), and the unquestionable and firm affirmation of all forms of worship only to Allah (s.w.t). Yasir Qadhi is a learned person who used to be amongst those whom Allah (s.w.t) honored to defend and preserve this Declaration (Kalimah), but now says that worshiping the graves is everything terrible, evil, sin, innovation, a steppingstone, and a door opener, but not Polytheism (Shirk). Meanwhile, many people’s dilemmas, including his Facebook fans and other learned Shaykhs in his circle, secure their livelihoods and prestige. So, do they have no care for what happens to the religion? What benefits does one gain from his adherence to the religion, what good is left in him towards Allah (s.w.t), His religion, and His Messenger (s.a.w) when he sees Allah’s (s.w.t) boundaries and sacredness being transgressed? Hence, I decided to introduce a revised second edition of the book titled ‘Lā ilāha illa Allāh,’ and to include two additional parts to address and refute Yasir Qadhi’s recent grave worship blunder. I ask Allah (s.w.t) to make this work of benefit to Muslims, including our brother Yasir Qadhi. May Allah (s.w.t) guide us all. Ameen. Imam Karim Abu Zaid
