"Are they really Muslims?" Islam in China reveals the struggle for identity of the small yet vital Muslim community of China, a little studied minority on the fringes of the Islamic world now thrust into the spotlight by the opening of China to the world and the rise of independent Muslim republics on China's western borders. Both timely and important, the multifaceted essays--- collection of over twenty years of Raphael Israeli's scholarship on Chinese Muslims--offer detailed insight into the relationship between China's non-Muslim majority and an increasingly self-confident guest culture. The work uncovers a history of uneasy ethnic, philosophical, and ideological coexistence, the gradual sinification of the Chinese Muslim creed, and the increasing accommodation of Islam by a modern, westernizing China. In addition, it highlights a religious group riddled with sectarianism; factional rifts that reveal the doctrinal, social, and political diversity at the core of Chinese Islam.

"What are the fundamental differences between Alexander the Great and Dhul-Qarnayn? Is Dhul-Qarnayn (Akhenaten) the believing man from the family of Pharaoh mentioned in the Qur’an? What was the path of Dhul-Qarnayn’s historical journey? Where is the setting sun located? Where is the sunrise located? Where is the country between the two dams located...the site of the reclamation built by Dhul-Qarnayn? Who are Gog and Magog? In this book, ""Unveiling the Secrets of Dhul-Qarnayn: Akhenaten and Gog and Magog"" by Hamdi bin Hamza Al-Suraiseri Al-Jahani, a former member of the Saudi Shura Council, the author was able to decipher the identity of Dhul-Qarnayn by building his facts on historical documents and evidence, and a careful and meticulous reading of ancient history. The author surprises readers by revealing that Dhul-Qarnayn was none other than Akhenaten, the monotheistic pharaoh of Egypt, and he also reveals the secrets of the people of Gog and Magog, their origin, time, and homeland.

Any divide between revelation and rationality, religion and logic has to be irrational. If religion and rationality cannot proceed hand in hand, there has to be something deeply wrong with either of the two. Does revelation play any vital role in human affairs? Is not rationality sufficient to guide man in all the problems which confront him? Numerous questions such as these are examined with minute attention. All major issues which intrigue the modern mind are attempted to be incorporated in this fascinatingly comprehensive statute. Whatever the intellectual or educational background of the reader, this book is bound to offer him something of his interest. It examines a very diverse and wide range of subjects including the concept of revelation in different religions, history of philosophy, cosmology, extraterrestrial life, the future of life on earth, natural selection and its role in evolution. It also elaborately discusses the advent of the Messiah, or other universal reformers, awaited by different religions. Likewise, many other topical issues which have been agitating the human mind since time immemorial are also incorporated. The main emphasis is on the ability of the Quran to correctly discuss all important events of the past, present and future from the beginning of the universe to its ultimate end. Aided by strong incontrovertible logic and scientific evidence, the Quran does not shy away from presenting itself to the merciless scrutiny of rationality. It will be hard to find a reader whose queries are not satisfactorily answered. We hope that most readers will testify that this will always stand out as a book among books – perhaps the greatest literary achievement of this century.

During the early modern period, Muslims in China began to embrace the Chinese characteristics of their heritage. Several scholar-teachers incorporated tenets from traditional Chinese education into their promotion of Islamic knowledge. As a result, some Sino-Muslims established an educational network which utilized an Islamic curriculum made up of Arabic, Persian, and Chinese works. The corpus of Chinese Islamic texts written in this system is collectively labeled the Han Kitab. Interpreting Islam in China explores the Sino-Islamic intellectual tradition through the works of some its brightest luminaries. Three prominent Sino-Muslim authors are used to illustrate transformations within this tradition, Wang Daiyu, Liu Zhi, and Ma Dexin. Kristian Petersen puts these scholars in dialogue and demonstrates the continuities and departures within this tradition. Through an analysis of their writings, he considers several questions: How malleable are religious categories and why are they variously interpreted across time? How do changing historical circumstances affect the interpretation of religious beliefs and practices? How do individuals navigate multiple sources of authority? How do practices inform belief? Overall, he shows that these authors presented an increasingly universalistic portrait of Islam through which Sino-Muslims were encouraged to participate within the global community of Muslims. The growing emphasis on performing the pilgrimage to Mecca, comprehensive knowledge of the Qur'an, and personal knowledge of Arabic stimulated communal engagement. Petersen demonstrates that the integration of Sino-Muslims within a growing global environment, where international travel and communication was increasingly possible, was accompanied by the rising self-awareness of a universally engaged Muslim community.

Quran (Kareem) is a holy book which is the message of Allah (God) revealed for the betterment of humanity. This is the message of the same Qur'an when the world or human beings were born, but it continued to be revealed to each prophet from time to time. The Prophet faithfully conveyed the message of Allah to the human beings as per the orders of Allah, but the human beings kept cutting thorns in the holy book according to their selfishness, as a result, the human beings could not get the original (messages of Allah). After that, Allah also continued to tell his messages to the incoming prophets through the angel (Jibrail), even then the changes in the book of Allah (Tauret, Jabur, Injil and other Saheefs) continued. After that, the last book Quran Sharif (which exists till the end) on the last prophet Mohammad had to be sent (descended) for the good of mankind. Because the responsibility of this holy book has been taken by Allah Ta'ala (God) Himself. Books for familiarizing Quran (Kareem) are very few and not good in Hindi, so by the grace of Allah Ta'ala, this book has been published. Took the initiative to write. Man's heart is a divine gift from God which shall be examined upon his death. This has been disclosed to man as far back as 3,500 BCE in the Egyptian Book of the Dead. From literal evidence, the Chinese came from the Tower of Babel, Sumeria, present IRAQ and were monotheist. From other captivating information in the Old Testatment, and the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, The Chinese are related by blood to Abraham. The Tao Te Ching confirms the closeness between the New Testament and the Tao Te Ching between their relations. And Confusius wrote the moral laws and the Chinese practise them up to this day. My journey brought me through the ancient Chinese civilisation, Jesus Christ teachings up to the coming of the Holy Koran with the seal of God’s prophets in 633 AD. Lavishly illustrated with over 300 pictures, including more than 200 in full color, The Oxford History of Islam offers the most wide-ranging and authoritative account available of the second largest--and fastest growing--religion in the world. John L. Esposito, Editor-in-Chief of the four-volume Oxford Encyclopedia of the Modern Islamic World, has gathered together sixteen leading scholars, both Muslim and non-Muslim, to examine the origins and historical development of Islam--its faith, community, institutions, sciences, and arts. Beginning in the pre-Islamic Arab world, the chapters range from the story of Muhammad and his Companions, to the development of Islamic religion and culture and the empires that grew from it, to the influence that Islam has on today's world. The book covers a wide array of subjects, casting light on topics such as the historical encounter of Islam and Christianity, the role of Islam in the Mughal and Ottoman empires, the growth of Islam in Southeast Asia, China, and Africa, the political, economic, and religious challenges of European imperialism in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and Islamic communities in the modern Western world. In addition, the book offers excellent articles on Islamic religion, art and architecture, and sciences as well as bibliographies. Events in the contemporary world have led to an explosion of interest and scholarly work on Islam. Written for the general reader but also appealing to specialists, The Oxford History of Islam offers the best of that recent scholarship, presented in a readable style and complemented by a rich variety of illustrations.
