The book has a background of more than 10 years of research. Nilgiris has a rich history and heritage as it was the summer capital of the Madras Presidency. The idea occurred when the author found many attractive old British buildings and became interested in their history. Soon she realized that many little details are not included in history books, and therefore she decided to pen down all her investigations for the Nilgiris people.
