A superb hand-bound limited edition with plates in their original colour never before reproduced. Matthew Baillie's pioneer work (1799) established anatomical pathology as an independent science. This singular edition is a perfect facsimile of the unique copy which belonged personally to Baillie's illustrator, William Clift FRS, into which he had mounted many of his own superb original coloured drawings.
