A long time ago in a small town, there was a little dog named Charlie. Charlie was a very curious pup, always wanting to learn more about the world. One day, Charlie decided to go on an adventure and explore this magical world. Charlie walked a long way and saw many amazing things like tall trees, beautiful flowers, and butterflies of all different colors. He was very excited, but when he looked back, he realized he was lost. Charlie started to feel scared and didn't know what to do. As he wandered, he saw a little bird. The bird asked if he needed help, and Charlie happily agreed. The bird told Charlie that she could help him find his way home. So, they began their adventure together. Charlie discovered many beautiful places and became good friends with the bird. Charlie felt hungry after a long walk, and the bird brought him some food and water, telling Charlie to be well-prepared next time when he went out. They walked for a long time and finally found the way home. Charlie thanked the bird for her help and was happy he had such a good friend. Charlie's big adventure taught him many things. He learned about the value of friendship and how to ask for help in difficult times. From then on, Charlie became a braver and smarter little dog. When Charlie returned home, his owner was surprised because Charlie had grown quite a bit. Charlie proudly told his owner about his adventure, and the owner was proud that his little dog had grown and had such an exciting experience. The story of Charlie's big adventure teaches us that even when we face difficulties, we can overcome them as long as we are brave, ask for help, and have good friends by our side. This story also reminds us that the most important things in life are not wealth or fame, but the people around us and our experiences.

“Food for the soul.” —CBS Mornings A thought-provoking journey of companionship, courage, tenderness, and tea. Big Panda and Tiny Dragon embark on a journey through the seasons of the year together. They get lost, as many of us do. But while lost, they discover many beautiful sights they'd never have found had they gone the right way. Told through a series of beautiful drawings and quiet, sometimes silly, conversations, the panda and the dragon explore the thoughts and emotions, hardships and happiness that connect us all. In nature, they learn how to live in the moment, how to be at peace with uncertainty, and how to find the strength to overcome life's obstacles together. Inspired by Buddhist philosophy and spirituality, British author and artist James Norbury created the adventures of Big Panda and Tiny Dragon to share ideas that have helped him through difficult times. The book’s series of vignettes can be read cover to cover or dipped into whenever inspiration is needed. James hopes the book’s words and images will inspire others to pause, enjoy the stillness, and look at life in a positive new way. Along the way, they'll pick up a strange crew of misfit travelers. Lester has a lady love to meet. Salvador and his mom are looking to start over. Val needs a safe place to be herself. And then there's Gladys... Over the course of thousands of miles, Coyote will learn that going home can sometimes be the hardest journey of all...but that with friends by her side, she just might be able to turn her “once upon a time” into a “happily ever after.” This title has common core connections.
