There was usually a distinct cytostome at the anterior end close to the kinetonucleus and the roots of the flagella. The trophonucleus was large, rounded, or oval, bounded by a well marked nucl-ea-r membrane, and furnished with a karyosom-e. Besides being situated in the anterior half of the body the tropho nucleus was often eccentric, being placed nearer to the margin along which the trailing flagellum ran (flagellar margin). In this respect it differed from that of P. Urinaria, which, according to Sinto-n is generally nearer the aflagellar margin.
