God is always previous. The stewardship of life is our response to God. God begins the subject of stewardship in the very first chapter of the Bible. Typically, when the word "stewardship" is mentioned, most people think of money. Of course, stewardship involves much more than money. Money is only one expression of our stewardship. Stewardship involves all our response to God in life. There is nothing you or I could imagine that stewardship does not include. God wants to engage us to be laborers together with Him. You and I need to understand that God wants His work done in this world, and He created us (once we are redeemed and reconciled back to Him) to labor with Him and to do His work. When we prove faithful in one area, He enlarges our stewardship so that we work in more areas with Him. - Publisher.

Ulster, in the north of the Kingdom of Ireland underwent resettlement in 1609. Defeated by the British Army in the Nine Years War, Gaelic chieftains fled, and parliament, under approval by King James implemented the Plantation of Ulster. Thousands of acres, confiscated and newly surveyed were granted to London Companies, landed gentry - people with social standing and wealth, and servitors - those favoring the king with loyalty and administrative or military service, and trade groups and churches. Scottish and English settlers migrated to Ulster, entering into land leases with the new landlords. By the mid-1700s, Ulster Scots, today known as Scots-Irish in America, and those with English and Irish ancestry, sailed from the ports of Londonderry, Newry, Portrush, Larne, and Belfast to North America. Famine, escalating lease payments, and Penal Laws designed to limit or deny political participation resulted in religious persecution, driving the descendants of the plantation settlers from their homeland. In 1785, two years following the end of the American Revolution, thousands left Ulster, lured by reports of land suitable for farming west of the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania. The phrase "look before you leap," derived in Ulster marketplaces, suggested one should investigate overseas prospects before selling possessions and leaving Ireland. On July 9, 1785 a captain from Limavady together with a crew of twelve set sail on his newly acquired three-mast ship, Faithful Steward, departing the quay at Londonderry destined for New Castle, Delaware then Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. James McIntire, age 22, from Ardstraw Bridge, County Tyrone believed he was sailing to a land where heroes live. Simon Elliott, age 65, together with Sarah (Lee) and a family of five, anticipated meeting their son John, having left Donegal in 1784 on the Lazy Mary, migrating to Pennsylvania. James Lee, age 78, and Isabella (Boscawen) and a family with relatives numbering more than four-score, left Ardara and Killybegs in Donegal for the wilds of western Pennsylvania. Merchant Gustavus Colhoun, age 19, and his older brother Thomas, a mariner and supercargo, combined their wit and experience to deliver a mysterious cargo to one of the wealthiest men in the newly formed United States. Passengers, reported to total 249 boarded Faithful Steward. Everyone's life was destined to change and forever be altered, close to the shore at Coin Beach, north of the Indian River Inlet on September 1, 1785. It was Delaware's worst maritime tragedy.

We live in a culture where apps and Google calendars manage our time, events, and banking. But all of this management will be meaningless in eternity unless we have applied the biblical principles of stewardship to every aspect of our lives. More than Money offers a modern day, relevant perspective that empowers you to apply the concepts of whole-life stewardship. Generally associated with money and giving, stewardship is really about managing everything God has given or entrusted to you: time, talents, resources, finances, relationships, positions, even the gospel. In a culture where the world around you distracts from the God who holds it together, More than Money shows the relevance of God in your daily life and how He has given you freedom to choose how to manage all He’s given you. How are you doing? God has entrusted to you to use what He has given to accomplish His purposes. More than Money shows you the principles of whole-life stewardship so Christ can say to you “well done, good and faithful servant.”

Best-selling author Andrew Wommack shares his personal story of when he was young and strapped financially. God taught him how to have abundance in the area of finances. Andrew discusses the influence of money in our lives and how it is very real. He teaches that Jesus taught more about managing resources than He did on prayer or even faith. He exposes the manipulation that sometimes goes on with Christian ministers and how you can be immune from it. Andrew Wommack's message is clear that even though there are abuses in the body of Christ regarding money, that you can still benefit from the truths in God s Word about finances. He believes that by fixing your heart that you deal with the root cause of financial situations and then money will take care of itself. Once your heart is right, using wisdom in how you spend your money comes naturally.
