Supernatural revelation and ability has always fascinated people, yet Spiritfilled Christians have access to God's very heart through prophetic revelation. God has given many biblical examples of those who operated in their prophetic gifts, but Elijah personifies the prophet's role. He put no limits on God's ability. He knew how to operate in his gifts, even in hard things like multiple translations and a resurrection. He performed signs and wonders like calling down God's fire. He also taught others as pupils and proteges to pass his knowledge to the next generation. He was so in tune with the Father he was one of two men who never tasted death. His ministry is an example to modern-day prophets. Connie Hunter-Urban's book, The Elijah Anointing, not only shows how Elijah's life experiences relate to us, but also how those events create principles for Spirit-filled believers to apply to their own gifts. Through biblical examples and her own life's experiences, Connie uses this powerful prophet to demonstrate modern-day principles. Both new and seasoned operators in the prophetic will learn much about their own prophetic journeys. Connie Hunter-Urban uses Elijah as an example of how Spirit-filled believers can better understand their own gifts. The Elijah Anointing explores Elijah's life, gleaning principles which govern prophetic gifts even today. This book shows how God cherishes His prophets, both new and seasoned and encourages and instructs all levels in becoming mature operators in Holy Spirit's gifts."

Strongholds can’t be broken without the boldness to confront them. After reading this book, you will have the courage to walk in the same anointing as the prophet Elijah to boldly declare the power of the Lord and break off the strongholds holding our world captive to the darkness. As it was in the days of Elijah, a great number of God’s people today dwell in a nation that is on a path of progressive moral decline. America has the most liberal abortion standard in the world. Christians are hooked on pornography. The homosexual agenda is finding acceptance even in the church. Divorce is on the rise in the church. Human trafficking is manifesting as the ugly side of globalization. Those who were once considered great leaders are now preaching a doctrine of inclusion, with Christian who leaders or that are afraid to say on national television that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. With the turn of a new decade plagued with violence, sickness, disease, and economic instability, the people cry out for the prophets to speak. And God is raising up a prophetic people who will help prepare the way for His purposes in our generation. A new company of Elijah prophets—holy, bold, and uncompromising—are being equipped to restore the spiritual destiny of the church in our generation. In this book, Michelle McClain-Walters challenges readers to awaken to the call God is stirring in the earth and stand up as modern-day Elijahs who will partner with the Holy Spirit to change the culture by turning hearts back to God. The Characters of Elijah and Elisha and the Deuteronomic Evaluation of Prophecy

The Characters of Elijah and Elisha and the Deuteronomic Evaluation of Prophecy

Roy L. Heller looks at the prophets Elijah and Elisha in the books of Kings charting a two-fold characterization that portrays these prophetic figures in both positive and negative lights. In the narratives of Kings Elijah and Elisha often parallel other prophetic figures from Israel's history: they perform miraculous signs, they speak in the name of God, and they pronounce judgments upon the nation of Israel for its idolatrous worship. There are, however, other stories which have troubled readers and scholars alike: Elijah's cowardly running from the threats of Jezebel, his self-pitying complaint to God that he was the only true Israelite left, and Elisha's cursing a group of little boys who, in turn, are slaughtered by two female bears. Scholars have traditionally ignored or belittled the negative stories of the prophets, seeing them as either late additions to the biblical text or as minor, unimportant stories that can easily be dismissed. Heller, however, argues that the dual characterization of Elijah and Elisha reflects an ambivalent attitude that the narrator of Kings has toward prophecy as a whole, an attitude that is reflected in the book of Deuteronomy itself. This forces readers of the biblical text to pose the question; “how may Israel best know and follow God?” The stories of Elijah and Elisha make the answer clear: the words and lives of the prophets are a possible way for God to reveal how Israel is to live, but those words and lives must always be considered with a degree of suspicion and must always be evaluated in light of the clear and straightforward teaching of Deuteronomy.

Learning through experience definitely makes an impression, but isn't it better sometimes to learn from the successes and failures of others? Scripture tells us that those who came before us are examples for us (1 Cor. 10:6 and 11), given that we could learn what to do-and what not to do. Few offer us the lessons that Elijah does.Looking...

Although many of us long to be blessed by the anointing of the Holy Spirit, R. T. Kendall believes it is possible to abuse this anointing - and become yesterday's man or woman. This happens by trying to move outside our calling and capabilities, for example, or even through impatience. Drawing on the Bible, especially the lives of Saul, Samuel and David, as well as on his own experience, R. T. helps us to identify our current usefulness and urges us to seek a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit each day.
