For more than 2,000 years, between 1500 BCE and 600 CE, the Egyptian processional oracle was one of the main points of contact between temple-based religion and the general population. In a public ceremony, a god would indicate its will or answer questions through the movements of a portable cult statue borne by priests or important members of the community. The Egyptian Oracle Project is an interactive performance that adapts this ceremony to serve as the basis for a mixed-reality educational experience for children and young adults, using both virtual reality and live performance. The scene is set in a virtual Egyptian temple projected onto a wall. An oracle led by a high priest avatar (controlled by a live human puppeteer) is brought into the presence of a live audience, who act in the role of the Egyptian populace. Through the mediation of an actress, the audience interacts with the avatar, recreating the event. The series of carefully focused essays in this book provides vital background to this path-breaking project in three sections. After a brief introduction to educational theatre and virtual reality, the first section describes the ancient ceremony and its development, along with cross-cultural connections. Then the development of the script and its performance in the context of mixed-reality and educational theatre are examined. The final set of essays describes the virtual temple setting in more detail and explores the wider implications of this project for virtual heritage.

A book of wisdom teachings and rituals that invoke ancient Egyptian deities to awaken human consciousness • Provides guided shamanic visualizations to invoke 26 of the most significant gods • Takes the reader through shamanic portals of death, rebirth, and illumination • Reconciles internal conflict through a sacred marriage of heart and mind In Shamanic Mysteries of Egypt, Nicki Scully and Linda Star Wolf renew humanity’s connection to the ancient gods of Egypt, the neteru. Voices from these divine ancestors remind us of the healing power of the heart, and call us to bring their consciousness into the present to help us remember our true nature as divine humans with sacred purpose. The authors provide rituals, meditations, and rites of passage to help us meet our personal and planetary challenges with grace, wisdom, and love. The shamanic initiations provided are invoked, directly experienced, and transformed into embodied wisdom that awakens consciousness and illumines the intelligence of the heart. Scully and Star Wolf focus their rituals on 26 of the primary divine entities that preside over the ancient mysteries whose roots are in Old Kingdom and pre-historic Egypt. This fresh interpretation of ancient mysteries unites the energies of Thoth and Anubis to guide us through the current cycle of Earth changes and to help us remember who we really are at heart. Through these passages, Anubis lives up to his ancient title as the Opener of the Way, and Thoth as the Architect of Higher Learning. Together they evoke their power to unite heart and mind in the sacred marriage that brings transformation, renewal, and the awakening of consciousness.

Do you ever see an image on a book, hear a sound while walking down the street, or smell a scent carried by the breeze that makes you envision a whole other life? What would you feel if that life were real? You see yourself on the shores of the Nile as a priestess praying to the goddess Isis or witnessing your own trial at Salem or serving as Anne Boleyn's handmaiden at court. This is exactly what happened to my friends and me. After spending thousands of years and countless lifetimes trying to repair our sisterhood, we finally had the chance to come together and restore our sacred contracts with Isis and with each other. We had to go back. We had to go back to the start of it all-the creation of our sisterhood at Philae and its destruction two hundred years later. Our story is one of betrayal, ego, and thirst for power. This is a murder mystery that would take almost two thousand years to solve. Come on our journey and discover the power of sisterhood and the Divine Feminine. For all my soul sisters, we remember you always and forever.
