Recommendations: Clearly expressed national health policies should be developed, national health care policies should foster conjoint education/Health care action at the regional level, permanent means of co-ordinating and integrating government action in health care and education of the health professions should be established, govenment agencies, educational institutions, and professional organisations should encourage innovation and experimentation in different health care systems, co-operative international efforts should aim at sharing experiences in developing health care policies and programmes and in health care research.
