Robert R. Maldonado, Ph.D, is a retired Air Force Officer, Reiki Master Teacher, Barbara Brennan Healing Science Practitioner, Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, Energy Medicine Practitioner, and teacher of Chinese Integral Qigong and Tai Chi. He has traveled the world extensively and has a passion for discovering beauty and honoring the sacred in all places and cultures he visits. Dr. Maldonado is dedicated to helping people discover their innate abilities and their potential to heal themselves and find their true purpose in life. In addition to his healing practice, he teaches learning seminars in middle school, leads a metaphysical group in Arlington, Virginia, and is a doctoral student in Energy Medicine at Akamai University. He frequently travels with Energy Medicine Partnerships, Inc., (EMP) and has authored books based on his visit to New Zealand, My Maori Experience-New Zealand-2007, and Peru, A Spiritual Journey to the Sacred Land of Mystical Peru. This book richly describes the author's personal experiences in transformation and healing, weaving together wonderful teachings from his life and journey as an energy healer. In the process, he eloquently uncovers certain truths or underlying principles on which healing rests, and he explains the various approaches he used as well as introduces several energy-based techniques. He explores the power of the healer within us-what healing is all about-and he shares some of the ancient wisdom he has learned from traditional healers during his international travels. Content also includes development of the healer, healing wounds, international spiritual tours, stories of healing, a discussion of his eclectic healing practice, personal reflections on the healing journey, and a vision of the future in healing. In The Calling of the Heart, Maldonado teaches us to honor ourselves and where we are in our lives; he teaches us to be open to other realties and to receiving guidance from others.

If you are seeking to more fully engage your heart and soul with a new romantic partner or in your current love relationship, this is the book for you. In this practical guide and spiritual memoir, Robin White Star reveals the intricacies and richness of the shamanic calling ceremony: the power of gratitude that fuels the miraculous calling for your soul companion; making heart requests that are specific without being limiting; sifting through and releasing dozens of beliefs that have obscured your inner truths; reawakening your innate ability to stand in your truth with wholehearted kindness to yourself and your loved ones; and opening your heart to the infinite possibilities of mutual trust, intimacy, love and joy in relationship. The calling ceremony awakens long dormant instincts for sacred relationship, inviting you to safely traverse the inner landscape of your soul consciousness in order to release the fears and limitations that have hindered your ability to manifest your heart's desire for an intimate, authentic, loving relationship with your Soul Companion - whether with a new or existing partner. This calling from the heart starts with your own healing and purification, and leads you through personal empowerment and spiritual understanding until you are crystal clear about who you perceive yourself to be and who you are calling into your life. Upon the culmination of your personal journey, you are ready to sit with the Fire to call your Beloved to you, connecting energetically heart to heart so that you can meet in the physical with grace and ease. White Star outlines the ceremonies and indigenous wisdom she learned through oral tradition as an apprentice for over 17 years to a healer and medicine man of Cherokee descent in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Not only does she share these native teachings and traditions in her own words with clarity and simplicity, she also relates her personal journey of calling her Soul Companion into her life using candor and humor. Because the Calling Ceremony is a life-changing and love-enhancing spiritual adventure, White Star has made this sacred Calling Ceremony available to all who are seeking a higher vibration in their relationship. Consciously inviting joy and healing into every aspect of your life and intentionally aligning your heart's desire with the web of co-creation and interconnectedness that has always been present in your life are the true powers of the Calling Ceremony. Embark on this sacred journey if you dare. It is dangerous work - you could end up being happy!

Call Home the Heart (1932) is the story of Ishma Waycaster, a poor woman who, pregnant for the third time and discouraged by the endless struggle of rural life in the Great Smoky Mountains, flees to a mill town, where she becomes involved in union organizing and a bloody strike (modeled on the Gastonia strike of 1929). Burke (1869-1968) provides a remarkably honest portrayal of the conflicts between Ishma's sexual and emotional needs and her intellectual and political loyalties, and of the racial issues raised by the strike.

Because only Lalitha knows the dark secrets upon which her stepmother, Lady Studley, has built a new life for herself and her daughter. Worked like a slave and frequently thrashed with her stepmother's cane, she feels that should one of these beatings go too far her death would merely come as a relief. The conniving mother and daughter's latest deceit involves Sophie's latest two suitors. Betrothed to Julius Verton, Sophie is dismayed to find that he has no money of his own, at least until his uncle, the Duke of Yelverton, dies. With typical callousness she plans to abandon Julius and elope with the immensely wealthy Lord Rothwyn, a friend of the Prince Regent. But she does not love him, only his riches and his position in Society. "Oh, well," she says, "perhaps his Lordship will not live long. Then I shall be a rich widow and will be able to marry Julius when he is the Duke of Yelverton after all!" But when news arrives that Julius' uncle is on his deathbed everything changes. Sophie sends Lalitha to meet Lord Rothwyn at the Church to tell him that he is being jilted. And from the moment the dashing Lord mistakes her for Sophie and seizes her in a passionate kiss, her heart is lost and her life is changed forever -
