"A grief of mind" v. 35.--Esau sinned by marrying two wives, both of the race of the Canaanites (v. 34); hence probably called a "fornicator," Heb. xii. 16. CHAPTER XXVII. Isaac's dangerous illness. He desires to bless Esau. Jacob, personating Esau, obtains the blessing. Esau's distress. He threatens his brother, who is sent away in consequence by Rebekah. Isaac's Illness.--(v. 1) "And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I.
