If at times in the restoration of the Barrett and Browning backgrounds, the picture becomes somewhat composite, that fact does not invalidate the accuracy of the picture as a whole. No doubt the mistake of placing some human beings in too close association has been made, for their temperaments or the circumstances of their hour may have kept them apart.
