A grandson of Nicholas, Benedict Arnold (1615-1677) was born in England and became the first Governor of Rhode Island. Benedict Arnold of Revolutionary War fame was a great-grandson of this original Bendict Arnold. Descendants live in Rhode Island, Ohio, New York, Wisconsin, and other states.
