The Journey begins with The Abba Foundation: how to know the Father really is good. Then The Abba Factor helps you distinguish between living as an orphan or as a son of God. Finally, learn to partner with the Holy Spirit in the process of transformation, the full meaning of "Abba" cry with The Abba Formation. Each chapter contains a weekly Meditation Verse, Assigned Reading, Discussion Questions for reflection and sharing in a small group or triad, and a Supplemental Article. These work together to assist the disciple in integrating the main concepts of each chapter.

The Abba FOUNDATION Knowing The Father Through The Eyes of Jesus Jesus didn't come to start a new religion, judge the world, or model a new ethic. He came to give humanity the clearest possible view of the Father. Jesus was, and is, first and foremost Abba's Son. He knew the Father in a way that was incomprehensible to His contemporaries and continues to challenge our notions of the rule-keeping, judgmental, begrudging God. Jesus reveals the Father's creation, will, mission, relationships, gifts, calling, and more in this clearly-written study that provides every disciple a path to sonship. “I challenge you to get through a chapter of this book without a desire for God being struck in your soul. Roger Owens wears his brilliance lightly and loves words tenderly and lavishly in these pages. He is ferociously gifted, and fast becoming one of the abbas to whom the reading church often turns for a word from the Lord.” —Jason Byassee, senior pastor of Boone United Methodist Church and Fellow in Theology & Leadership at Duke Divinity School With a style and warmth of presentation that will remind readers of Henri Nouwen’s most popular work, Abba Give Me a Word interweaves the author’s personal stories of struggle – and transformation – with reflections on the history and purpose of spiritual direction. The result is a wise introduction to an ancient art and practice of “soul care” – directed at Christians of all backgrounds.

In the 1970s, Benny Anderson reached worldwide fame as the songwriter and keyboard player in ABBA, one of the all-time classic pop acts. However, his first taste of stardom came a decade earlier, when he was a member of the Hep Stars, Sweden's biggest pop bands of the 1960s. In a marked contrast to ABBA's studio-based career, The Hep Stars swept through the country like a tidal wave, scoring hit after hit and playing hundreds of gigs each year in front of hordes of screaming teens. Benny's Road to ABBA tells the amazing story of Benny's life and career in Swede-pop.

The Sepher Yetzirah, or Book of Formation, although very short, is probably the most important of the Kabalistic texts. Its secrets were passed on in the Hebrew oral tradition until it was written down in the 2nd century b.c.e. It lays out the principles of Kabalistic cosmology and the Tree of Life, how humankind (the microcosm) reflects the Divine (the macrocosm). It also sets forth the Hebrew doctrine of Logos--the creation of the world in numbers, letters, and sound. As such, it is a seminal text for all serious magicians. Stenring has made a word-for-word translation from several texts, choosing only those parts which he believed to be authentic. He reveals the text's secrets in his diagrams, tables, and extensive notes. His "Master Key to the Theoretical and Practical Kabala" is a diagram of the correspondences between the English and Hebrew alphabets and is not found in other translations of the Sepher Yetzirah. Also unique in this translation is Stenring's assignment of certain tarot cards to the paths on the Tree of Life. Several authors have done this before, but Stenring asserts that he arrived at his correspondences on his own. The introduction by Waite surveys the historical background of the Sepher Yetzirah translations and the import of this foundational Kabbalistic text.

Fr. William L. Burton, O.F.M., doesn’t want you to be intimidated by studying the Bible. In fact, as a scripture scholar, he believes reading God’s Word is not only educational but also fun and entertaining. “The Bible is filled with surprises!” he says. In Abba Isn’t Daddy and Other Biblical Surprises, Burton answers a number of fascinating questions that help you become more familiar with the Bible and your Catholic faith. Have you ever wondered whether “Christ” is Jesus’ last name? Did you know that when Jesus called God “Abba” he didn’t really mean the familiar “Daddy” as you may have been taught? Could the Our Father have originally been a Jewish prayer? Burton answers these questions and many others in Abba Isn’t Daddy and Other Biblical Surprises: What Catholics Really Need to Know about Scripture Study. The book will satisfy your curiosity about biblical subjects you’ve heard of and passages you’ve wondered about but never really pondered deeply nor understood. Burton, a renowned scripture, introduces you to basic principles of scripture study and aids in your exploration of intriguing questions about the life of Jesus. In part 1, Burton examines the history of the Bible, tools for scripture study, and the importance of archaeological, cultural, and linguistic discoveries for understanding the Bible. He also offers a fascinating explanation of how the geography of Israel played a crucial role in the Bible’s content and development. In part 2, Burton addresses interesting questions related to the origin and meaning of topics in the New Testament. Abba Isn’t Daddy and Other Biblical Surprises is a perfect resource to encourage you to learn the principles of scripture study and undertake a deeper reading of the Bible.
