In A Catholic Mother's Companion to Pregnancy: Walking with Mary from Conception to Baptism popular Catholic blogger and speaker Sarah A. Reinhard presents the first book to accompany expectant mothers from conception to baptism. This book includes weekly reflections and prayers rooted in the mysteries of the Rosary and related to the baby’s physical development. Designed to help expectant mothers embrace pregnancy as an opportunity for spiritual growth, A Catholic Mother’s Companion to Pregnancy prepares mothers for the trials and joys of pregnancy, childbirth, baptism, and, ultimately, motherhood. Each week of pregnancy is paired with a mystery of the Rosary, a personal, down-to-earth reflection from Reinhard, advice for living the sacramental life, and a prayer to help the reader grow in faith as she bonds with her unborn child.

This book is about my view of the tears shed by God and mankind in the process of deciding if we want to accept the free gift of eternal life God gave us through his son, or go our own way and spend eternity with Satan. God has put a burden on my heart for people who do not want to give their lives to Jesus and that do not want to let the Holy Spirit guide them through their life here on earth. I spent about half of my life without Jesus and over half with him and I am here to tell you it is much better with Jesus than without him. This book is my idea of how many tears God cried while hoping the human race would decide to be obedient. But after thousands of years of hoping, he realized the human race just can't seem to get it together so he went ahead with his plan to save the human race. Jesus Christ was born for the sole purpose of dying a horrible, horrible death to pay for all the things we do that do not please God. I hope this book will help people to see that without God we are nothing. We are in the end times and we need to decide, do we want to give our life to God or do we want to give our life to Satan? I hope and pray we all make the right decision.

Examining innovations in Mary Magdalene imagery in northern art 1430 to 1550, Penny Jolly explores how the saint’s widespread popularity drew upon her ability to embody oppositions and embrace a range of paradoxical roles: sinner-prostitute and saint, erotic seductress and holy prophet. Analyzing paintings by Rogier van der Weyden, Quentin Massys, and others, Jolly investigates artists’ and audiences’ responses to increasing religious tensions, expanding art markets, and changing roles for women. Using cultural ideas concerning the gendered and pregnant body, Jolly reveals how dress confirms the Magdalene’s multivalent nature. In some paintings, her gown’s opening laces betray her wantonness yet simultaneously mark her as Christ’s spiritually pregnant Bride; elsewhere ’undress’ reconfirms her erotic nature while paradoxically marking her penitence; in still other works, exotic finery expresses her sanctity while celebrating Antwerp’s textile industry. New image types arise, as when the saint appears as a lovesick musician playing a lute or as a melancholic contemplative, longing for Christ. Some depictions emphasize her intercessory role through innovative pictorial strategies that invite performative viewing or relate her to the mythological Pandora and Italian Renaissance Neoplatonism. Throughout, the Magdalene’s ambiguities destabilize readings of her imagery while engaging audiences across a broad social and religious spectrum.

Fifteen years later, Michio has become a young and spirited artist, painter and sculptor. He creates a replica of Michelangelo's Pieta that is unveiled at a ceremony to open the Museum of the Virgin Mary, and it wins him highest praise. Two years later, however, the statue is vandalized by someone. What is the purpose of destroying the Pieta? Why does Mary in the Pieta keep shedding tears? What was the true grief of Mary as she stood at the foot of Jesus’ cross? Mysterious incidents occur one after another in Kyoto and in Italy regarding the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception that hinders the unity of the Christian Church.
