Yet for all its advantages, deaths & injuries resulting from motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for persons from 3 to 33. Traffic fatalities accounted for more than 90% of transportation-related fatalities. This report contains statistics on motor vehicle fatalities based on data from the Fatality Analysis Reporting System, a census of fatal crashes within the 50 States, D.C., & Puerto Rico.
