Sukhmani Sahib, is known in English as "The Jewel of Peace" and some call it "The Psalm of Peace". This prayer was compiled by the Fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev Ji. This prayer eradicates worries, fear, anxiety and all negativity while bringing peace and joy to the one who reads, understands and practices it. It is divided into 24 Hymns with 8 Stanzas each, with each Hymn describing the ways to attain God and peace. Besides enjoying this composition, it is also a perfect gift to give anyone you know, for what greater gift than the gift of peace? There is no greater worship than remembering God, and this humble translation attempts to provide the reader with a better understanding of life and attaining God. God is Perfect and no words could ever describe Him completely. This humble translation attempts to invoke the reader to understand the importance of repeating God's Name as well as other attributes. If even one line of this glorious composition, can, by God's mercy, change the life of the reader or the people around them, I would consider this tough endeavor a fruitful deed. May these hymns bring peace and prosperity in your life, by the Almighty's Grace. May you always be Happy.

Sikhism traces its beginnings to Guru Nanak, who was born in 1469 and died in 1538 or 1539. With the life of Guru Nanak the account of the Sikh faith begins, all Sikhs acknowledging him as their founder. Sikhism has long been a little-understood religion and until recently they resided almost exclusively in northwest India. Today the total number of Sikhs is approximately twenty million worldwide. About a million live outside India, constituting a significant minority in the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. Many of them are highly visible, particularly the men, who wear beards and turbans, and they naturally attract attention in their new countries of domicile. This third edition of Historical Dictionary of Sikhism covers its history through a chronology, an introductory essay, and an extensive bibliography. The dictionary section has over 1000 cross-referenced entries on key persons, organizations, the principles, precepts and practices of the religion as well as the history, culture and social arrangements. This book is an excellent access point for students, researchers, and anyone wanting to know more about Sikhism.

Contrary to popular opinion, there is more to Sikhism than the distinctive dress. First of all, there is the emergence of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, and the long line of his successors. There are the precepts, many related to liberation through the divine name or nam. There is a particularly turbulent history in which the Sikhs have fought to affirm their beliefs and resist external domination that continues to this day. There is also, more recently, the dispersion from the Punjab throughout the rest of India and on to Europe and the Americas. With this emigration Sikhism has become considerably less exotic, but hardly better known to outsiders. This reference is an excellent place to learn more about the religion. It provides a chronology of events, a brief introduction that gives a general overview of the religion, and a dictionary with several hundred entries, which present the gurus and other leaders, trace the rather complex history, expound some of the precepts and concepts, describe many of the rites and rituals, and explain the meaning of numerous related expressions. All this, along with a bibliography, provides readers with an informative and accessible guide toward understanding Sikhism.

In the history of world religions, as a Sikh it is my belief that there is no other book on world religions that clarifies the areas of revelations and also their limitations in their manifestation on the variety of life and how they justify to establish a real history according to the new concepts of the writer. The fear of death, jealousy, and prejudice are very natural to such religions that lack the blessings of a prophet. With comparison to a complete revelation upon this globe as the Sikh Gurus and their continuous manifestations in life with unselfish kindness and sublimity of martyrdom in variety of horrible trials through our Gurus and Khalsa, which is illumined by the word in book and word in flesh of Gurus, no other religion can compete with it. The greater holy wars of Sikh Gurus and Khalsa are unsurpassable in holy wrath and immeasurable mercy in the history of world religions with comparison to especially the greater holy wars of Islam. Heirs of the Land book represents the History of the Sikhs in a true spirit before the Mankind; and emboldens and encourage especially the Heirs of the Great Punjab, the Sikhs, to study their history, its people, and places those that had been ignored not only by the Indian and Pakistan States sponsored so-called Historians, but also, who are trying hard to dilute the Sikh Revolution of the SatGuru Nnak Sahib. Therefore, the author shall die in peace if this work inspires the historians to look at Harappa Civilisation and the Sikh-Revolution in its true inceptions. Natasha Behl uses ethnographic data from the Sikh community in India to upend longstanding assumptions about democracy, citizenship, religion, and gender. This book reveals that religious spaces can be sites for renegotiating democratic participation, and uncovers how some women engage in religious community in unexpected ways to link gender equality and religious freedom as shared goals. Gendered Citizenship is a groundbreaking inquiry that explains why the promise of democratic equality remains unrealized and identifies ways to create more egalitarian relations.
