"Three Translations of The Koran (Al-Qur'an) side by side" is an anonymous compilation of Koran translations. The Koran is one of the most important texts ever published, but, like many ancient writings, its translations can be up to interpretation. This book shows the similarities and differences between the three most popular English translations of this religious text in a fascinating show of what can change based simply on who performs a translation.

What is prayer? The question is rather straightforward, but with a bit of consideration you might find there is no easy answer. In Why People Pray, Rabbi Mordecai Schreiber examines this elusive nature of prayer, as well as the history of formal prayer and how it has been shaped—and continues to be shaped—by an era of unprecedented globalization. At the heart of Why People Pray is that very question: why do we pray? What is it that compels us to have faith, or to give it up? Why do we continue to believe in a higher power in spite of discrimination, conflict, illness, and loss? Rabbi Schreiber’s book introduces a fascinating new supposition: that people of all faiths and all nationalities could conceivably find ways to pray together; using prayers that are universal to all while simultaneously preserving the integrity of each individual faith. He proposes a new approach to prayer, in which the spiritual adherents of the world’s religions come together to formulate a universal expression of prayer that does not replace existing creeds, but rather transcends all creeds and gives voice to humanity’s yearning for peace, freedom, and social justice.

There are many books that attempt to show the similarities between Islamic beliefs and Christian beliefs. While this book does accomplish that, it takes a step further, using the verses of the Quran to show more than just similarity of beliefs. It shows that Muslims believe in Jesus and, according to their scriptures, believe in following Christ. It shows that they believe the Christian churches of the time were following apostate beliefs. The people of Islam were awaiting the restoration of all Truths as taught by all prophets including Jesus Christ. There are many who do not realize the sheer number of references to Christ that exist in the Quran. Nor do many realize the teachings about the council in heaven, the creation, the occurrences in the Garden of Eden, the need for prophets, the miraculous conception of Jesus, Jesus restoration of the true religion, miracles performed by him, his resurrection and ascension, the apostasy; the prophecies of other chosen people and scriptures, another restoration and more prophets yet to come as taught in the verses of the Quran. This work should be, if not intriguing, at least enlightening for every reader no matter what their religious background or beliefs. Some alternate spellings for Quran are koran and quran.

This is a rare piece of empirical research, which reveals the workings of a spiritual order, its leadership, as well as their approaches, methods and tools. It demonstrates how the seekers, who were partly drug addicts and HIV patients, and the general segment of this Order, have been able to positively transform themselves. A multidisciplinary approach enlightens the analysis and discussion by bringing together spirituality, psychology, neuroscience as well as organisational development, to produce a rich tapestry of first hand insights. This book provides an integrated approach to understanding the landscape of a spiritual order primarily using a mixed method and a holistic approach with a particular focus on Islam. Qualitative examples include interpretivistic phenomenological approaches and neuro-linguistic programming. The book highlights the positive impact of worship by providing practical guidance and suggestions on how to spiritually improve oneself. This dualistic approach generated a working model for spiritual leadership and self-development. The unsuspecting but important link of spirituality to the United Nations sustainable development goals (SDGs) is highlighted and discussed, which needs to be factored into the global development narrative. The text is primarily for researchers, yet has a secondary use for students and general readership given the comprehensive review establishing a conceptual framework for worship and morality.

The Quran literally meaning "the recitation", is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from God Allah.
