Victory always has a cost. The fight is over, and Leigh Morgan won. After spending months spying in Otherworld as a servant, she’s rescued the humans who were abducted by the Others and sent them safely home. She had to stay behind to destroy the gateway between worlds and keep them safe, but tough luck. She’s prepared to pay the price. But she didn’t expect the curse that the queen of Otherworld lays on her: a thorny vine growing under Leigh’s skin that will kill her when it reaches her heart. The queen will lift the curse… if Leigh uses her connections in the human realm to locate a magical weapon lost hundreds of years ago. To ensure she succeeds, the queen sends her son, Dredarion Rath, the cunning prince Leigh had to betray to save her people. With anger and hurt still fresh, they can barely stand to be in the same room together, much less cooperate on such a dangerous mission. But as Leigh’s friends risk everything to help her, she’ll have to find a way to reconcile with Dredarion before their quest gets her and everyone she cares about killed. The Dark and Otherworldly series continues with deadlier threats, darker romance, and deeper secrets. Return to Otherworld and buy it now.

In brazing through the text, the author systematically travels a path he lived and taught throughout his ministry amongst the people of God. Throughout his life he submitted his will to the Father. Letting Go and Letting God is the main thrust of living a God centered life. Each one of us is called to take up our cross (Each person has their individual cross). The call to vocation and our response to it will open our hearts to the Living Water of our Lord. In the next few pages the author describes the workings of the human brain. He presents our remarkable resilient brain, as it is involved in our daily and moment to moment decisions. There is an old decision: Not to make a decision is a decision in itself. Next, Rational and Irrational Ideas are addressed to give the reader a birds eye view an understanding and appreciation of the self. Then steps are taken to build our sense of self and enable us to recognize those thoughts which keep us from maintaining a pure heart; they can also us under a cloud of depression and fear, if not addressed. The author introduces a Holistic Approach to put spirituality into practice. In this section the author uses building blocks to demonstrate for the reader the manifested issues to address in deepening ones spirituality. In plotting out the journey, the author begins with the family in the development of spirituality. Going deeper, a section is devoted to meditation and the prayer life. The manuscript concludes with the section of STORIES, On which the reader can combine the stories of others and self.

This volume is the first English translation and annotation of the sermons of António Vieira, a major cultural figure in the Portuguese-speaking world. Born in Lisbon in 1608, Vieira was a Jesuit who lived and worked in both Europe and Brazil in the service of the church and the Portuguese crown. His sermons are among the most renowned pieces of baroque oratory in the Portuguese language. These carefully selected sermons offer insight into Vieira's visionary thought on social and spiritual matters. In the Sermon for the Success of Portuguese Arms against the Dutch, Vieira inveighs against God for His apparent abandonment of the Portuguese and begs for divine intervention. His Sermon of St. Anthony is an allegory that addresses the inequities that he witnessed in Brazil. The Sexagesima Sermon parodies literary clichés from his time while prescribing a more effective, if harsher, style of preaching. The Sermon of the Good Thief is a rebuke to the imperial officials who used their positions for personal enrichment, and a warning to kings against complicity with corruption. Vieira's Sermon XXVII addresses African slaves and their Brazilian masters, attempting to comfort the first group in their trials and to admonish the second for their brutality. Finally, the Sermon called Arm tells the story of the relic of Francis Xavier's arm sent from India to Italy in 1614, and pays tribute to the obedience of Vieira's Jesuit predecessor.
