Capt. Marcos Alonso Garza was from Lepe in Huelva province in Andalucia, Spain, and immigrated to Mexico City, where he married Juana de Treviño. He moved to Guadiana (now the city of Durango), Durango, and later possibly married Catalina Martínez Guajardo. He then moved to Monterrey, Nuevo León, and died before 1643.
