This book rocks! Southern Belle Rocks is a must read by women everywhere. It reflects everything a woman wants to say, but feels the world doesn’t want to know. It opens up emotions and heals wounds. This is a riveting work of ninety percent truth that’s written into a biography, with just a twist to protect the names of the innocent. It is a true story of the life of a Southern Belle who was born in New York City, and moved to North Carolina as a twenty-two- year-old adult. This is a wonderful book about ups and downs, revealing the secrets to true happiness, as well as the pain suffered trying to get there. The versatility of Ashanti Belle shows that she was an urbanite, a socialite, and a country girl to boot. She was a woman who had her life shattered and then put back together in a way that all women must read to see how it is done. This book is for women, no matter the race, creed, ethnicity, age, or educational level. It represents liberation and a celebration of what we often truly feel. Southern Belle Rocks will make you laugh and cry, and will show many women the route to empowering themselves, so they can become whatever they want in spite of the obstacles in their way.

With the help of her family, the author has traced the journey of her ancestors, the Davis Family of Eutawville, South Carolina back to their enslavement on a plantation called The Rocks. It traces the family back t the mid 1700's to perhaps the first family members to arrive from Africa. Cornbread My Soul: The Davis Family of Eutawville, South Carolina is not just a book about genealogy, it includes childhood stories, family traditions and the story of being a product of the Great Migration, raised in the North, and how her family instilled a sense of cohesiveness and pride by exposing her to her Southern roots and culture.

"When McKinley Casperson, fun-loving promoter and bachelor, meets Lillian Prichard on the funicular railroad he operates on Castle Rock, he cannot imagine that one day this spirited beauty will tangle with the Ku Klux Klan and help his family shed the dark influence, a surprising political current that captured Colorado's statehouse and governor's mansion in the 1920s."--Page 4 of cover

Born to a Slovenian Mom and an Irish Dad, I grew up in a small Ohio town in the 40's and 50's with many memories of my family struggling during and after World War II. Studies came easy for me, graduating with honors in College Preparatory Classes in 1959. I spent the last years in high school having overcome a "Meatball" weight problem and hanging out with buddies that were "cool." Although I was accepted and had a college scholarship waiting for me, there was this stronger urge to accompany my buddies and join the Marines — promising my parents college would come later. While serving 4 years in the Marine Corps (Univac Computers), I followed one of my "cool" buddies to a local Albany, GA radio station in search of a part-time job and fell in love with the thought of being a DJ with hundreds of girls admiring me and my now Mr. Bronze America muscular body! I did make it with an on-air gig but only got there because of my Sales/Marketing skills. With a few delays, my parents were elated when I graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications and a Master's Degree in Broadcast Management. The road to success has taken me on a lot of twists and turns, some right turns — while making my share of boo-boos along the way. There has been more than 50 years invested in writing this book ... some parts based on life — others based on my vivid imagination! During and following a career in radio and helping to build-up and sell radio stations, there was success as a motivational speaker across the country while promoting other famous speakers, including Zig Ziglar, Og Mandino and Norman Vincent Peale. Several money- making projects were always active while living life to the fullest — including looking for the next lady to share it with and the next opportunity to do something exciting! Enjoy!!
