Students submitted nearly 300 essays suggesting a name for the lake and rea sons for their selection, and a committee of members of nearby homeowner asso elations selected the winner. Trici Higginbotham of Laurel Ridge Ele mentary School won the contest and a $50 savings bond with her suggestion, Woodglen Lake. She also received a letter of commendation and a certificate of recognition at the dedication ceremony at the lake site. Prizes were provided by the soil and water conservation district.
