Each must be regarded as important in its own sphere, yet that Society which is designed not merely to ameliorate the condition of the African in America by providing him a home in the land of his ancestors, but also to pour the radiance of Divine truth on a vast Continent, cannot be considered inferior in its' importance to any other. Whether re gard be had to the benevolence of its character or the benignity of its consequences, it is entitled to a position at least as prominent and to a patronage as liberal as any other which appears in all the ranks of philanthropy, patriotism and religion. No part of the world has so strong a claim on the energies of the American Church and people at this time as Africa - especially its Western regions. America alone has the population available and willing 'to go 'up and possess it for God and the elevation of them selves and their race. The american colonization society is encouraged to press on with renovated resolution and zeal in the prosecution of its object. Until the inhabitants of the rock sing, and the shout is heard from the top of their mountains, that the kingdoms of Africa and of the earth, have become the kingdom of our Lord, and of His Christ: to whom be glory forever.
