The Cycle of Sin uncovers and reveals each sequence of events we experience when we allow sin to dominate our life. Each link uncover and reveals the nature of sin, and what sin does. The Bible does not teach that we will not sin. It teaches us not to willfully sin (Hebrews 10:26-27). The Cycle of Sin is the second in a series of teachings geared Toward helping the believer whose desire is to grow spiritual mature in the Lord. We grow mature spiriturally by understanding and implementing the Word of God in our life, which is called truth (1 Peter 2:1-3).

During the seventeenth century, English Puritan pastors often encouraged their congregations in the spiritual discipline of meditating on God and His Word. Today, however, much of evangelicalism is either ignorant of or turned off to the idea of meditation. In God’s Battle Plan for the Mind , pastor David Saxton seeks to convince God’s people of the absolute necessity for personal meditation and motivate them to begin this work themselves. But he has not done this alone. Rather, he has labored through numerous Puritan works in order to bring together the best of their insights on meditation. Standing on the shoulders of these giants, Saxton teaches us how to meditate on divine truth and gives valuable guidance about how to rightly pattern our thinking throughout the day. With the rich experiential theology of the Puritans, this book lays out a course for enjoying true meditation on God’s Word. Table of Contents: 1. The Importance of Recovering the Joyful Habit of Biblical Meditation 2. Unbiblical Forms of Meditation 3. Defining Biblical Meditation 4. Occasional Meditation 5. Deliberate Meditation 6. In recovering this lost language in our worship and individual lives, she shows how we can take part in the divine work of redemption.

In his first letter Peter declares that Jesus bore our sins in his body so that we may cease from sin and live for righteousness. He followed that by saying that some people had ceased from sin. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we may cease from sinning and live for righteousness. (1 Peter 2:24) Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for corrupt human desires but for the will of God. (1 Peter 4:1-2) Peter says that there were people who had ceased from sin. Moreover, he tells how they became people who had ceased from sin: they suffered in the flesh. He also gives us a glimpse into how such people lived: no longer controlled by corrupt desires, but by God's will. The real possibility of ceasing from sin should be of great interest to those who love Jesus (John 14:15, 21, 23, 24) seek to be controlled by God's will (1 Peter 4:1-2) seek to live for righteousness (1 Peter 2:24) seek to be free from sin seek the spiritual growth and fruitfulness that comes with being free from sin seek eternal life (Matthew 5:29-30, 18:8-9, Mark 9:44-47) seek fellowship and union with God (John 14:15, 21, 23) Satan is interested in keeping people from ceasing from sin. He is seeking to rob Jesus and us of the results of his sacrifice through one of the greatest deceptions in history: causing people to believe that it is impossible to cease from sin.

Life Is Never Mainly About Love and Marriage. So Learn to Live and Date for More. Many of you grew up assuming that marriage would meet all of your needs and unlock God's purposes for you. But God has far more planned for you than your future marriage. Not Yet Married is not about waiting quietly in the corner of the world for God to bring you "the one," but about inspiring you to live and date for more now. If you follow Jesus, the search for a spouse is no longer a pursuit of the perfect person, but a pursuit of more of God. He will likely write a love story for you different than the one you would write for yourself, but that's because he loves you and knows how to write a better story. This book was written to help you find real hope, happiness, and purpose in your not-yet-married life.
