Petruzella's Computer Simulation Lab Manual with MultiSim CD can be used in conjunction with the author's Electricity for the Trades text, or as a stand-alone item. The Lab Manual contains simulation activities for all major topics in DC and AC electricity, and the experiments can easily be modified to use as physical labs with actual hardware.Students simply open the files on the accompanying CD, perform the lab (as outlined in the manual), and record their answers in the space provided. Nothing could be easier for the instructor and student. All labs have been field tested. Sure to maximize the use of the many MultiSIM installations out there.

Now today’s readers can master the hands-on electrical skills needed for professional success with THE COMPLETE LABORATORY MANUAL FOR ELECTRICITY, 4E by best-selling author Stephen Herman. No matter what electrical theory book readers are using, THE COMPLETE LABORATORY MANUAL FOR ELECTRICITY offers the perfect fit with a logical progression of topicsand meaningful, cost-effective experiments. Updated lab activities throughout this edition now incorporate the use of wirewound resistors rather than incandescent lamps. Learners explore all aspects of electrical concepts -- from basic electricity through AC theory, transformers, and motor controls. Each lab offers a clear explanation of the circuits to be connected, examples of the calculations to complete the exercise, and step-by-step procedures for conducting the experiment. Trust THE COMPLETE LABORATORY MANUAL FOR ELECTRICITY, 4E as a stand-alone resource or ideal supplement (e.g., to the Delmar Standard Textbook of Electricity) for the mastery of hands-on electrical skills today’s readers need. The Complete Laboratory Manual for Electricity, 2E is the ultimate preparation resource for any curriculum dedicated to training electricians. From basic electricity through AC theory, transformers, and motor controls, all aspects of a typical electrical curriculum are explored in a single volume. Hands-on experiments that acquaint students with the theory and application of electrical concepts offer valuable experience in constructing a multitude of circuits such as series, parallel, combination, RL series and parallel, RC series and parallel, and RLC series and parallel circuits. Each lab features an explanation of the circuit to be connected, with examples of the calculations necessary to complete the exercise and step-by-step procedures for conducting the experiment. Labs use generic equipment and devices commonly found in most hardware stores and electrical supply houses, and a materials list details the components necessary to perform all of the exercises.

Petruzella's Electricity for the Trades is an affordable resource for students in Electricity/Electrician programs, and other trades areas requiring coursework in basic electricity. Having worked as both a tradesman and classroom instructor, author Frank Petruzella provides a uniquely practical, hands-on approach to learning electrical fundamentals, with a wealth of applications and procedures apprentices will be using in their work. This preliminary volume starts with coverage of key background topics, with an emphasis on safety and tools of the trade; and then moves into DC and AC circuit essentials. Inductance and capacitance are covered in an applied way, preparing students for subsequent work with motors and generators. The text contains a wealth of illustrations and worked examples related directly to trades-oriented work. An Instructor Productivity Center CD-ROM, free to adopters, provides comprehensive instructional PowerPoint lessons for all chapter topics; additional chapter test questions prepared in EZTest; worked-out solutions to all chapter problems; and a link to the eInstruction Classroom Performance System for in-class quizzing, review and classroom management.

Lab Manual for Introduction to Electricity (ISBN: 0135106222) is available for purchase and can be ordered through your Pearson representative. The lab manual contains over 45 exercises that were written to supplement the text. Among its features: The opening for each exercise ties the activity to the text material, identifies the relevant chapter objectives, and helps the student to connect the activity to working in the field. Early exercises include detailed descriptions of the circuit connections along with step-by-step assembly instructions, helping the student to build the circuits more quickly and efficiently. The circuit descriptions and assembly instructions become more general as students progress through the manual, moving them toward more independent lab activities. In the first half of the manual, circuit diagrams showing how the circuit el- ements are connected and how the circuit is tested are provided along with the circuit schematics, helping the students to make the connection between schematic diagrams and actual component layouts. The labs are intended for use with the Lab-Volti EMS (electromechanical systems) line from Lab-Volti Systems, Inc. with test equipment available from other providers. However, all labs can be adapted to use similar manufacterers.
